Mueller investigation cost $25 million in first 16 months, report shows

Source: CNBC

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has spent just over $25 million in his probe of any links between the Trump campaign and Russia, according to a new filing released Friday.

The filing shows that Mueller spent a total of $4.5 million in the six-month period between April and October, with most of the fees going to personnel compensation and benefits. The probe incurred another $4 million in costs to Justice Department components not directly tied to the inquiry.

President Donald Trump has blasted Mueller for the cost of the probe. In June, the president wrote in a post on Twitter that “the Russian Hoax Investigation has now cost our government over $17 million, and going up fast.”

But the inquiry has proceeded along relatively quickly and at less expense than similar inquiries conducted by the Justice Department, such as Kenneth Starr’s investigation into President Bill Clinton.

Prosecutors said the Manafort’s own deal, which will require him to forfeit an estimated $46 million in assets, includes a 17-page cooperation agreement with Mueller in which he will help the special counsel cooperate “in any and all matter as to which the government deems the cooperation relevant.”

No question the net bottom line of this investigation has paid all of it's expenses plus netted several million dollars. And remember, when Uncle Sam is through with seizures of The Pig Families assets, plus taxes and penalties.... one of those Pig Family Towers should be renamed The Robert Mueller Federal Building.

Independent probes of Clinton Administration cost nearly $80 million

Besides Starr, five other independent counsels are currently conducting investigations. Four of those focus on the Clinton Administration. The combined costs of those four inquiries and the Starr probe now comes to $79.3 million.

... snip...

A probe of former Agriculture secretary, Mike Espy, acquitted by a jury last year, cost $19.2 million.

Somebody needs to remind them fools how much they wasted trying to get Bill Clinton impeached not to mention the 20 or so mil they dropped on fucking Benghazi. Almost 100 mil spent on the Clinton s for nothing. Muller has spent a 5th of that and is now putting people in cuffs monthly. Not only that but he's actually seizing assets in the process.

(Yeah, I know it's been said before, but it's worth saying again. The Mueller investigation is $20 million bucks IN THE BLACK at this point. If Matt 'Kingpin' Whitaker turned off the money supply tomorrow, Mueller could continue running the investigation for another year on fines alone. )

Mueller could, it might be a heck of an investment to go after Trump

Mueller might return ten times what Manafort did.

i'm sure Trump is leveraged but grabbing property to recover taxes puts them at the front of the creditor line.

It would be real justice and discouraging for anyone to try what Trump did again if they nail him financially.
