Canada is looking for a way to end a multibillon-dollar deal to sell armoured vehicles to Saudi Arabia, according to the prime minister, Justin Trudeau, but the country hasn’t yet figured out how to leave the agreement.

..................................

Following the killing of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and mounting civilian deaths from the war in Yemen, Trudeau has been under increasing pressure from rights groups, academics and policy advisers to cancel the arms deal.

Both Germany and Sweden have cancelled arms contracts with Saudi Arabia following public outrage over the brazen killing of the dissident journalist, but Trudeau has previously said that cancelling the contract would cost the Canadian government billions.....................

“It comes down to a deceivingly simple question,” said Kersten. “Do we want to be a country that has an arms trade with very unsavoury states, who may actually end up using these very same weapons to commit the kinds of atrocities and rights abuses that Canada has proposed to stand up against?”

I believe Germany cancelled arms sales a long time ago.

Rather than 50 million not caring, I think it is more about not believing.

Saudi Arabia is unpopular with all Americans. And the right wing people hate all Muslims

At a family gathering last month, cutting off SA was the one area of policy the trump supporters agreed with me. Discounting my crazy uncle who wants to turn the entire Middle East into glass. But he hates SA too!

Or not, who knows.

Rump has not once done or said a logical or helpful thing, so it is consistent with them supporting that which harms them.

The horrific tax cut will harm them the most of what he has done legislatively.

And the nightmare judges he and the traitor mcconell are installing will do harm like we cant begin to imagine.

conscience wrangling with Little Donnie Trump. He'll sell the Saudi's anything they want, and as much as they want, without batting an eyelash toward the murderous Saudis. Trump has no morals, hence no conscience. There's not a compassionate atom in his entire, corpulent body.
