Martha McSally will be appointed to John McCain's Senate seat

Source: Arizona Republic

Republican U.S. Rep. Martha McSally will replace retiring U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl to fill for the next two years the Senate seat long held by the late U.S. Sen. John McCain.

Gov. Doug Ducey’s decision to appoint McSally, announced in a statement Tuesday and effective next month, revives her political life less than two months after she narrowly lost the race for the state’s other Senate seat to Democrat Kyrsten Sinema.

It also makes Arizona one of only a handful of states with two women in the U.S. Senate. Prior to Sinema's election, Arizona had never selected a woman to fill a Senate seat. In prepared statements, Ducey and McSally echoed the same sentiment: an expectation that McSally and Sinema, her 2018 political rival, would work together in the Senate.

Ducey and McSally are scheduled to speak at a joint news conference in Phoenix on Tuesday morning.

Another right wing fascist, she served in the Airforce of 22 years so she gets here retirement and her heath care through the Airforce retirement plan, she gets about $ $72,000.00 per year as a Colonel.......................so she gets to double dip off that and go and make $174,000 a year being another fascist ..............so she will make close to a quarter million dollars a year..................

But this fascist thought it was just fine and dandy to try and fuck people out of heath care, in fact she voted to take away human beings health care..........................she is nothing more than a self serving hypocrite................

I guess her creed of duty honor and country............"is now " fuck people over ...............

And she gets to put more Federalist Society assholes on the bench, that hate health care .................

November 3, 2020 cannot get here fast enough.................

after watching her lie through her teeth about "supporting pre-existing conditions" and pushing caravan talk. She's the worst. We need to hang her horrible health care record and lies about it on her like a ball and chain when she runs for re-election in 2020.

now we know (many guessed already) why she was so quiet during the vote tallying in her race with Sinema. She knew she would be in one way or another.

It will be interesting to see whether she caters to the mouth breathers or tries to pass herself off as a "moderate" puke.

The newly elected Senators will be sworn in January 3. If she is sworn in before then, she will be the senior senator.

Kyl's last day is reported 12/31. If she is sworn in before January 3rd, then she won't just be the senior senator from AZ, but would have seniority over all of the other newly-elected senators for things like committee and office assignments.

Why would it be?

Military retirees don't lose their retirement pay if they get a federal government job, now retirement pay is reduced if a retiree receives disability pay!

But she got the senate job, no based on merit, just because she's a Republican!!!

It's not like I love her but seriously did you think he was going to appoint a Democrat? Anyone he picked would be someone democrats didn't like so it's a push.

expect Ducey to appoint a democrat, but he had republican options better than McSally. However, after she lost to Sinema, I believe Ducey told her that he would appoint her. The fix was in.
