Cleveland attorney Michael Wager and Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley are heading the effort, which they say will promote Brown's messages on economic growth and "the dignity of work." Community events and digital organizing are also planned and a website is up.
Brown of Cleveland won a third term in November in an election that stood out in Ohio amid sweeping Republican successes in a state that Republican President Donald Trump carried in 2016. Brown says his victory showed Democrats can win by fighting for workers without compromising progressive values, although he hasn't made a decision on 2020.
Brown is among dozens of Democrats who are considered possible 2020 candidates.

(10,005 posts)I like them both. But Ohio is a critical state, and Brown has the chops to win in the industrial Midwest.

(571 posts)Senator Brown, but I would hate for him to have to endure the political raping that he will be subjected to at the hands of the republicans: the lies, the character assassination, etc.

(2,574 posts)He's got the experience, the smarts (Yale, econ), and a solid progressive voting record. Republicans fear him the most of
all our politicians because they cannot get any traction against him. He's always been outspokenly on the side of fairness, reason, decency, working Americans ...from his anti Iraq War vote to his anti corporate supremacy, proworker/environment lines in the sand on trade agreements, taxes, human rights..
Brown has the rare talent of framing and messaging in clear, concise progressive language. He'd be a shoe in to win and the Republicans know it. Journalist Connie Schultz would be an excellent FLOTUS too.
