Kara Eastman says she's seeking a 2020 rematch with Don Bacon for 2nd District House seat

Democrat Kara Eastman will seek a rematch against Nebraska Republican Rep. Don Bacon, she announced Thursday in a press release.

Eastman, the Omaha nonprofit executive who ran a nontraditional campaign against Bacon this year and lost by 2 percentage points, called Bacon “extreme” and sought to tie Bacon to President Donald Trump.

“Nebraskans deserve an independent voice who can bring people together and fight for the things we all need and deserve,” she said in a statement. “All Nebraskans should be able to get ahead when they work hard; that means having a living wage, healthcare, and affordable, healthy housing.”
