Trump calls GOP senators to White House after threatening shutdown over border wall
Source: abc news

(6,547 posts)Too bad he wouldn't negotiate on DACA. He turned down his best chance at raising the money for his border wall. Many of his followers have forgotten this. I am very happy he did not get the money offered him at that time, and very sad that DACA recipients did not get closure.

(3,473 posts)Or would that then cause enough Republicans to vote no that they wouldn't have the 2/3rds necessary?

(8,677 posts)That tactic does not allow a veto override since its technically not vetoed. However if he does nothing for 10 days then the legislation becomes law automatically. At least that is my understanding.
