Florida cop fights his suspension over smearing black athletes as 'useless savages'

An Orlando police officer who called black athletes protesting the national anthem “useless savages” is fighting his 80 hour suspension, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Officer Robert Schellhorn said that his Facebook rant in August of 2017 was the result of stress related to officer shootings.

“That all came out in this response and, regrettably, I used unbelievably hateful language,” Schellhorn said during testimony at an arbitration hearing last week, meant to determine if the Orlando Police Department acted appropriately by suspending him.

In addition to calling black athletes savages Schellhorn slammed them as “overpaid thugs.”

I can understand being under a lot of stress due to officer shootings, but just imagine the stress in the black community as they watch their unarmed children, husbands, and parents being shot by police. At least your police comrades were armed. They were honored in death and their families were taken care of.

Imagine losing your only son or the father of your children for no good reason other than the color of their skin. You can't give up 80 hours? So many of given up a lifetime with a loved one, so it is hard to conjure up any sympathy for you. A wiser man would have shut his mouth and took the suspension. We wouldn't even know your name or face, but NOW we do.

You claim to regret what you said initially, now you can regret whining about it.

10. It is interesting that so much of the hate aimed at black athletes has been focused on

how much they are paid. As if they should be grateful for how much America has "given" them and shut up. And of course he had to get the word "thugs" in there. Very telling. This cop is clearly an overpaid thug who should be grateful he wasn't fired.
