ISTANBUL - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday accused the United States of maintaining a “silence” on the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who killed by a Saudi hit team in the kingdom’s Istanbul consulate.

“I cannot understand America’s silence. … We want everything to be clarified because there is an atrocity, there is a murder,” Erdogan told an interview with state-run TRT television.

“The Khashoggi murder is not an ordinary one.”

Khashoggi, a Washington Post contributor and Saudi regime critic, was murdered at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2.

But the murder occurred on Turkish soil. Is that not a crime in Turkey? Why has Turkey not charged anyone with a crime yet?

Why is Erdagon looking to America to solve a murder that occurred there, in his country?

Embassy grounds are considered to be within the country of the embassy.
The Saudi Embassy is Saudi territory and Turkey cannot just force their way through the gate.
This is why so many North Korean defectors try to make it over the walls of the South Korean embassy in Beijing. The Chinese can't get them and return them

My point rejects that distinction when Erdagon complains of a murder in his backyard. Regardless of the diplomatic situation, he is free to make it a big issue of the murder and not fault the U.S.

But your point is valid in a civilized world, an embassy is not subject to a host country's jurisdiction.

And jared and trump were probably getting payoffs from that and their arms deals they were given to personally profit from. If Khashoggi was getting close to exposing them for it, and was a threat to trump and jared , this could have been done for trump as a favor for him, and he may have known all about what the Prince was doing before it happened. Now they want it covered up. Did intel tell him before the killing? They need to investigate this further.
