Trump had worst monthly approval rating of his presidency in January: poll

Source: The Hill

By Avery Anapol - 02/07/19 08:25 AM EST

A new Morning Consult poll found that President Trump last month had the worst monthly approval rating of his presidency.

.................................................
A majority, 55 percent, said they disapproved, which was also a record.

Though a large majority of Republicans in the poll, 83 percent, said they approved of Trump, that number was the lowest in months, according to Morning Consult.
.....................................................

A majority of voters in 27 states said they disapproved of Trump, with a majority in just 12 states saying they approved.

At least two other polls taken in January, including one from conservative-leaning Rasmussen, showed Trump with his lowest approval rating in at least a year.

The reason that his approval rating with Republicans remains high is very misleading. Think about it. If he is losing followers, if he is losing the people who voted for him, he is left with a smaller number of rabid core followers which will keep his approval numbers high %wise, but not numbers wise.

His 35-40 or whatever percent is stubbornly, proudly, ignorantly solid - they are a cult.

More than the usual vague anecdotal comments. 83% of Rethugs approve of him exactly why? Their selfishness and ignorance needs to be put on display. Let’s start making that public, and not just the numbers.

the answer that I got wasn't about voting "for" Trump, it was about voting against Hillary. Now that Hillary is out of the picture it is about voting against Democrats. The right with the complicit help of the M$M has made the words Democrat, liberal, into words of hatred.

They made the mention of the name Pelosi a name to be scorned at with absolutely no good reason to do so.

There is nothing positive about the GOP/Trump base, it's all about bigotry, racism, and hatred.

The right has Rove, Luntz, Corsi, Stone, O'Keefe, AM radio, Fox News, whose only job is to vilify, lie, scorn people on the left. They have American oligarchs like the Koch brothers financing them. The Democrats have nothing to buttress against those false prophets. We have progressive sites on the internet, but they deal in the truth, we don't foster lies and conspiracy theories to scare our base. Thank god for sites like DU.

The narrative that is flooding the M$M right now, is all about the politicians in Va. who need to resign, what happened to Steve King? What happened to Donald Trump for that matter? A man accused of sexual assaults on minors was almost elected Republican Senator in Alabama.

People aren't born racist or bigoted or full of hatred, they are taught.

by an imbecile.

So 27 states are against him and 12 for. That's not a majority of people. Could this be Putin's plan to break apart the US just like the Soviet Union was broken apart??

When foreign governments seek to destabilize smaller nations - be it the U.S. against left-leaning Latin American states, France or the U.K. against their former colonies, Israel against Syria and Lebanon, or Russia against, well, us - the first thing they look for is precisely that:

Rifts within the targeted country itself, ready to be wedged.

And more often than not, they are of an ethnic nature. One dialect/tribe/religion against the other, native-born against immigrants, white against minorities, etc.

Often, in fact, the voters in the targeted country itself are aware they are being deliberately turned on each other - but actually welcome the interference (case in point: our friends in the GOP).

"I hate those people anyway," they'll tell you.

Divide and conquer, as they say.

Les Moonves: Trump's run is 'damn good for CBS'
By ELIZA COLLINS 02/29/2016 06:15 PM EST

Donald Trump’s candidacy might not be making America great, CBS Chairman Les Moonves said Monday, but it’s great for his company.

"It may not be good for America, but it's damn good for CBS," Moonves said at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference in San Francisco, according to The Hollywood Reporter — perfectly distilling what media critics have long suspected was motivating the round-the-clock coverage of Trump's presidential bid.

The 2016 campaign is a "circus," he remarked, but "Donald's place in this election is a good thing."

"Man, who would have expected the ride we're all having right now? ... The money's rolling in and this is fun," Moonves went on. "I've never seen anything like this, and this going to be a very good year for us.
