A Richardson, Texas, city councilman apologized and deleted his Twitter account after he called Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) a "bimbo" in a tweet.
Scott Dunn wrote in a now-private Facebook post that he was sorry for the "offensive" remarks he says he used in defense of President Trump's State of the Union address, according to the New York Daily News.
The words I used were offensive, Dunn wrote, according to the Daily News. I am responsible for my own words and actions. I apologize to anyone who finds what I said offensive.
Twitter users and other Richardson officials criticized Dunn for his language after he called the New York lawmaker a "bimbo" with "nothing between your ear" in apparent response to a tweet from Ocasio-Cortez calling the president's State of the Union address an "embarrassment" for the nation.

Councilman Scott Dunn (destined for stardom by getting his name in the news from attacking a Congresswoman)
Love the not-quite-conscious look in his eyes, and the irresistible way the lips stick together at the sides of his mouth.

(3,175 posts)It's absolutely sexist, I'll definitely agree with that, but I don't see how calling a woman a "bimbo" is racist.

Sigh.

(15,805 posts)These big, chest thumping Neanderthals are totally flummoxed by smart, educated, self confident, assertive and persistent women.
The spent 30 years trying to crack HRC and she still kicked sand in their faces and laughed them into a cowed retreat with their tails between their legs. They've been flinging poo at Pelosi and she out played them like the grand master she is and left them writhing in humiliation in her triumphant victory lap.
Now we have a big new influx of strong, outspoken, dedicated young women set on uplifting the common man. That's what Dems were always supposed to do, but we've had a bit of a memory lapse. The arrival of AOC will spur Republicans to wild flights of testosterone laced heroic fantasy, and they will be shuffled off to a 21 century reeducation camp to adjust their attitudes towards women.

(2,673 posts)My sister watches Fox News all the time and yesterday she started on the same lines about AOC. I told her that AOC was great, that we need more young people with new ideas in congress to replace the old white men. That shut her up.
Councilman Dunn is from Richardson and had better watch his back. He is in same area where Colin Allred, (a Democrat and young black man) just beat an old white man(Republican Pete Sessions) for the US Rep seat.
Times they are a'changin, even in Texas!

About 35 years.
Northam has shown repentance over the years and Dunn is unrepenting.
