'Definitely and imminently' filing lawsuit against Trump administration over national emergency declaration: California Attorney General Xavier Becerra

California has already filed 45 lawsuits against the Trump administration.

By Quinn Scanlan 5m ago

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra said the state will “definitely and imminently” be filing its 46th lawsuit against the Trump administration, this one over the president’s recent national emergency declaration.

“We are prepared,” Becerra, a Democrat, said on “This Week” Sunday. “We knew something like this might happen, and with our sister state partners, we are ready to go.”

Becerra told ABC News after his interview on “This Week” that New Mexico, Oregon, Hawaii and Minnesota will be joining California in the coming lawsuit.

On Friday, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency in order “to confront the national security crisis on our southern border.”

Congress gave the president the power to declare an emergency and didn't set any limits, whether it is a real emergency or not makes no difference.

He filed the lawsuit because although he knew he could eventually get the wall built, he wanted it done sooner so declared a national emergency when there is no emergency at all, except to his ego.

God, I hope Roberts actually gives a damn about the constitution, because I'm sure Alito, Thomas,, Kavarape and Gorsuch do not, they are toadies to Russian/Repug party and care for nothing else, far as I can tell. Roberts is also a rw shill, but he at times does show concern about the reputation of the court and about following the constitution.
