Trump's NYC eateries written up for 'live mice,' other 'critical' health code violations in recent months
Mice in the kitchen, filthy food prep areas and broken sewage systems are on the list of recent stomach-turning health code violations at number of Trump-branded restaurants in the city, the Daily News has learned.
Health inspections at Trump properties from Midtown Manhattan to the Bronxs Ferry Point reveal the Presidents namesake company still struggles to keep its day-to-day operations clean though similar infractions have been reported for years.
Violations at the Presidents crown jewel and Manhattan residence Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue are perhaps the most gag-inducing.
City Department of Health inspectors visited the towers cafe and grill on July 11, 2018 and found evidence of mice or live mice in and around the kitchen, according to records that havent previously been reported. The inspectors categorized the violation as critical.

(15,139 posts)recently visited DC for the 1st time for a work related conference. I asked what they liked the most about the city and their response floored me. They were enamored with the bar at the Trump International Hotel. They enjoyed chatting it up with the bartender and couldn't beoieve how empty the place was because it was so nice. I should hasten to add that they aren't particularly politically savvy, but my God, in a city of historic sites, the bar at Trump's hotel? Bleeeeech!

(4,741 posts)In terms of yellow-tagging (immediate closure) it's not a set number of points or any specific violation but rather the totality of the situation and how quickly violations can be rectified (e.g. you can toss warm food on the spot, but if your water is down you're screwed).

(3,600 posts)I won't go there. There should not be mice in the kitchen unless there are cats at the tables. And I call Trump Tower, and all the T-rump slums, Trump Toilets.

(4,741 posts)Just search "Trump" for the four spots in the city.
Realistically, they aren't too bad at all and definitely nothing risking immediate closure...I know much more respectable places that have racked up way more points (40-60!) on the ungraded inspections; they're much pickier with those since you get a redo in a month to get your letter grade. "Evidence of mice" is actually pretty common, I've seen spots get dinged for that simply for having a hole in the baseboard.

(5,810 posts)Announcements. He talks a good line when he shows the architecture and the menu for the dining rooms, but dont look too closely in the kitchen. He does not care because he knows most people will never see the rat turds or standing water. They will see the big, shiny buildings and all that gold and assume it means everything else is good, too. But weve found out he cheats and cuts corners in construction, then stiffs the contractors he uses and abuses. So why not cheat in every other area, especially one that few customers will see?
Before his term is up or he gets booted out on his ass, I hope every bit of his cheating is exposed for all to see. Rat turds and all.

(19,193 posts)Now the "Trump Foundation" can be found alongside such hits as "Trump Steaks, Trump Wine, Trump Air, Trump - The Magazine, Trump University" etc. etc. etc. Without a slush fund there isn't even enough money to pay off the Health Inspectors. As for the "live mice in the kitchen", I'm not at all sure they aren't served as appetizers on the "Trump Menu".

He could serve them up with ketchup and call them "Fried Rodent Delites".
That would help bring his rodent population at his eatery under control.
