Rod Rosenstein will be leaving the Justice Department next month

Source: CBS News

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to leave his post in mid-March and newly installed Attorney General William Barr will name his new deputy as soon as this week, CBS News has learned. It's expected to be Deputy Transportation Secretary Jeffrey Rosen, CBS News correspondent Paula Reid reports.

A Department of Justice official disputes the idea that Rosenstein's departure has anything to do with former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe's explosive "60 Minutes" interview. In it, McCabe detailed conversations in which Rosenstein mentioned using the 25th Amendment process for removing a sitting president. McCabe also said Rosenstein was serious when he suggested he could wear a wire during conversations with President Trump.

Rosesntein was expected to leave after Barr arrived, but was slated to stay on for a few weeks after Barr was confirmed by the Senate in order to ensure a smooth transition. Reid was previously told Rosenstein always saw his post as a two-year position.

It's unclear what Rosenstein's departure means for the special counsel investigation, which he has overseen since he appointed Robert Mueller. Barr will likely inherit oversight of the investigation, though that has not been made official.

Barr, however, has been critical of the probe. In June, Barr wrote a memo to Rosenstein that The New York Times obtained. In it, Barr argued that Mr. Trump should not be forced to submit to questioning by the special counsel because "Mueller's obstruction theory is fatally misconceived" and is based "on a novel and insupportable reading of the law."

I don't trust any Republican dead or alive. The evil the do lives long after they have rotten in their graves. They are the swore protector of the wealthy and the enemy of the working class. They have opposed every piece of progressive legislation from labor laws, social security and medical benefits for the working class while sanctioning poisoning of air to turning the water supplies into sewers. Absolutely anything that restricts company profits is anathema. Nothing is sacred.

back until Feb.28th. Trump on Twitter lashing out like never before (even I see this, I have been numb to his tweets forever). I could be grasping at straws here or something big is coming. IDK anymore.
I in no way, think this means the whole thing will be wrapped up with a bow, but maybe, just maybe a few big pieces will be filled in.

I saw an article where one of his first planned briefings was going to be from Bob Mueller.

I would imagine everything has already been delayed a week or so while Barr reads the draft of the report Mueller is writing, and is brought up to speed on everything.
