Alabama senator demands resignation of newspaper editor who called for return of KKK
Source: Politico
Alabama Sen. Doug Jones (D) called for the resignation of a local newspaper editor for publishing a "disgusting" editorial urging the return of the Klu Klux Klan (KKK).
OMG! What rock did this guy crawl out from under? Jones tweeted Monday.
This editorial is absolutely disgusting & he should resign -NOW! I have seen what happens when we stand by while people-especially those with influence- publish racist, hateful views, he continued. Words matter. Actions matter. Resign now!
Joness comments came in response to an editorial published by The Democrat-Reporter in Linden, Ala., on Thursday that was written by the newspapers publisher, Goodloe Sutton.

Financial problems have forced Sutton to move the papers office that since 1965 had been across the street from the Marengo County Courthouse. It was where Sutton did his best work, pounding out hard-hitting editorials and coming up with headlines that alternately amused and angered readers.
His office now is in a former barbecue restaurant a block away, where pieces of paper are taped to windows carrying the papers name.
...
Today, its down to 3,000, and Sutton is doing all he can to stem the red ink.
