MEXICALI/TIJUANA, Mexico (Reuters) - Dozens of Central American migrants who U.S. authorities separated from their children last year when they crossed the Mexican border entered the United States again on Saturday asking for refuge and to be reunited with their kids.
A Reuters witness said some 50 migrants entered the United States at the international border crossing from Mexicali, Mexico into Calexico, California, where they were met by agents from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP).
Visibly nervous parents crossed the pedestrian bridge, some with children and carrying luggage, a Reuters witness said. They were accompanied by lawyers from immigration advocacy group Al Otro Lado.

(11,884 posts)The lawsuits will be getting filed against the government and the people who are involved in doing this to these people and their children , and long after this corrupt administration is gone , and civil lawsuits will be coming against some of them, and should be for what they've done or enabled to happen. And they are still doing this to children and their families.

(11,553 posts)At each place that the families were separated where was the first place children went? We need to take names and interview people who worked where these kids were sent. Each point of entry had different facilities.
I'm betting some of the kids were moved in groups--at least the first time or two. We should set up an emergency task force and also appeal to the public to help. Someone might have information that would help. We have to be doggedly on this and make this a priority. Were any of these children sold? Were any shipped out of our country?
The parents should be all put up in proper accommodations and work with the task force to share information, pictures, descriptions, etc. They should be hosted on well-publicized tv programs or news shows. We should start prosecuting any people that were involved in stealing these children. If we keep the heat on--just maybe--these parents won't be returning home without their children, and if we start this I am also betting many more families will come back to the U.s. To look for their children. Each should be treated with dignity and respect and we should turn over every single rock to find out what we need to--shining a bright light on the process every moment.
Another horrible scandal for Trump--but also for all the Republicans.
