President Trump on Monday said he has directed the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to give Alabama “the A Plus treatment” after a string of deadly tornadoes ripped through the state.

The tornadoes were part of a series of storms that left a trail of destruction through Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

The Trump administration has mixed record on disaster recovery, earning praise for its response to Hurricane Harvey that hit Texas in 2017 but receiving widespread criticism for its efforts in Puerto Rico, where 2,975 were killed by Hurricane Maria.

He also threatened to pull federal funding from California last fall as it was dealing with deadly wildfires, accusing the state of “gross mismanagement.”

I live on ground zero for Harvey flooding (67 inches of rain in 3 days) and I can tell you that the majority of people who lost their houses received NO HELP! Hurricanes Rita and Ike which also hit us were handled much better!

He will say to give Alabama the A+ treatment but he won't really follow through with them either. It is his nature to screw people, he gets off to it.

but I thought FEMA could only kick in/move in if a certain number of victims or some other criteria was met, e.g., 1000 victims or something like this. This happened in another prior disaster and FEMA was finally able to move in when limit was met.
