Democratic lawmaker announces plans to file impeachment resolution

Source: CNN

(CNN) Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib plans to file soon an impeachment resolution against President Donald Trump, the freshmen Democratic lawmaker from Michigan announced at a news conference Wednesday.

"Later on this month, I will be joining folks and advocates across the country to file the impeachment resolution to start the impeachment proceedings," said Tlaib, who has repeatedly called for Trump's impeachment.

... snip ...

This isn't the first time Tlaib has pressed for impeachment.

The freshman Democrat ignited controversy just hours after her swearing in when she defiantly told the audience at a progressive event, "we're going to impeach the motherf****r."

The comments provoked an uproar and sparked criticism from some fellow Democrats, but Tlaib didn't back down.

In order to successfully impeach a president one should dot every I and cross every T and have an ironclad case for impeachment. Otherwise this will wind up appearing as a "show trial" and do more harm than good.

Unless they plan to have many more votes in the Senate now, why move forward without the votes? Yes Nancy Pelosi should be the one making that determination to move forward now, and after a lot more is exposed . It also helps by it getting closer to 2020 election and exposing them all for what they are involved in, which right now they don't have that, yet, or the needed Senate votes.

When she's on record the day she got sworn in saying "We're going to impeach the motherfucker" it sort of plays right into Trump's bullshit argument that its all partisan politics when she's the one to file the paperwork.

Like I said, a mistake. What the fuck is wrong with waiting for the Mueller report OR the congressional investigations to get some impeachable offense on the record?

Tlaib talking impeachment is only helping Dump. It needs to be a come down from Leadership, with a sober and clinical process. It doesn't come from "folks' and "activists".

She and a few others need to just stop.

You have to have the country with you on Impeachment. Watergate took 2 years to investigate and let the public know. That's what the investigations do. I think she is wrong to bring it up now. We don't need division in the Democratic Party.

Trump isn’t going anywhere. There’s no harm in waiting until the Mueller report comes out, at least.

We need to also try and convince *some* of the skeptical people why we need to impeach Trump.

Don’t do it yet. We’re going to blow our one chance.

all it will really do will be to give him and the other Repugnants a platform to rally their base around before the election.
Now if we had the majority or had a snowball's chance in hell of swinging enough Repugnants over from licking his and Putin's boots getting a conviction in the Senate impeachment would make sense then.
Unfortunately though Mitch, Ryan and the rest of the Repugnants have shown that they are not interested in stopping from licking the boots of those two.

Why would anybody want to start impeachment proceedings before Mueller's report is released? The more evidence the better.
