Michael Cohen suing Trump Organization for not paying his legal fees

Source: Axios

Michael Cohen is suing the Trump Organization for "failure to meet its indemnification obligations" by not paying his legal fees.

Details: The lawsuit claims that around July 2017, the Trump Organization and Cohen entered into an agreement under which the company would pay for Cohen's representation and defense for various investigations. The organization confirmed its commitment to the deal through at least May 2018, even after Cohen came under heightened investigative scrutiny. In June 2018, shortly after Cohen began telling friends he was willing to cooperate with the Mueller investigation, the suit alleges the organization ceased to pay his law firm's invoices "without notice or justification," causing the firm to withdraw its representation of Cohen.

They can't claim his cooperating with justice dept as grounds for reneging on their contract to pay him when central part of his criminal charges and plea deal involved lying to cover up Trump Tower Moscow and Trump's campaign finance violation hush money deals.

If Cohen sent Trump regular invoices for legal work, and trump was paying them into 2018, the payment checks for Stormy wouldn't show up in the invoices, and Trump is lying his ass off when he says those payments are for legal fees.

Just imagine if Cohen was receiving payments from Trump for his time in Mueller interviews, etc.

Moreover... how can he win fees after he "turned"? Any contract has to have consideration on both sides. What consideration is he providing since he isn't Trumps attorney and isn't accruing these fees as part of representing Trump?

Good thing he's set up to go to prison, because he's putting a big ol' crosshairs on himself by bringing suit against the Trump organization. Especially if a judge grants discovery in his suit and it opens up some more of Trump's books to the public or Mueller.

Cohen started to cooperate and tell the truth and the payments stopped.

It that about the gist of it?
