A new Pew Research poll finds that 59% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents believe that having a majority of the population made up of blacks, Asians, Hispanics and other racial minorities by the year 2050 will weaken American customs and values.

Just 13% of Republicans say the coming demographic milestone — which Census demographers have predicted — will strengthen the country.

republicans and they used to work together all of the time. They had differing ideas, but worked together to do what was pretty much best for most, the 80% rule. Those days are long gone, and that is pathetic.

11. Sadly and disappointingly... not ONLY Republicans have negative/resentful feelings about diversity.

Not long ago, I recall hearing a complaint that Democrats who "are very big into diversity" aren't "particularly sympathetic" to the working class. (Lots of code-talk and dog-whistles being used, but easy to figure out what it means when we know what to listen for.)

All I'm saying is that the resentment and attacks aren't coming from only one direction. It's always sad and disappointing. We must always be alert an on the lookout.

Recall the movie Hidden Figures. A lady who was working in the space program was not allowed to use certain restrooms so instead of working on the program she was running all over to, essentially, accommodate the racist rules.

In some sense the racists are making a self-fulfilling prophecy. Is diversity weakening the U.S. because the racists are making it that way? Cops killing people for "driving while black."

If they'd just leave people alone--give them FREEDOM--the diversity would continue to propel America to new heights. Wise people know that it takes all "types" to run the world. Why would you allow this racism into your mind?

My late Dad in the 60’s always said that repukes are bigots and any minority who votes repuke is an idiot. My Dad was so right even then. He’d be appalled today that we have such a racist president.
