Pelosi, Schumer Joint Statement On Special Counsel Mueller's Report

March 22, 2019
Washington, D.C. Today, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer released the following statement regarding Special Counsel Robert Muellers report to Attorney General William Barr:
Now that Special Counsel Mueller has submitted his report to the Attorney General, it is imperative for Mr. Barr to make the full report public and provide its underlying documentation and findings to Congress. Attorney General Barr must not give President Trump, his lawyers or his staff any sneak preview of Special Counsel Muellers findings or evidence, and the White House must not be allowed to interfere in decisions about what parts of those findings or evidence are made public.
The Special Counsels investigation focused on questions that go to the integrity of our democracy itself: whether foreign powers corruptly interfered in our elections, and whether unlawful means were used to hinder that investigation. The American people have a right to the truth. The watchword is transparency.

(1,376 posts)Worth remembering:
There is an ongoing EDVA investigation into Tom Barrack, Mike Flynn (cooperating), Rick Gates (cooperating), and others secretly lobbying Trump to work(secretly) with the Saudis, Emiratis, and Russians on nuclear technology transfers ... sounds like an investigation related to the Trump-Russia scandal, doesn't it?

(51,567 posts)Five weeks after Barr is in charge the report is suddenly wrapped up? I do not buy it. Barr is fucking this up. Look at the fucking moron and his behavior recently. Barr is a very, very, very bad person to be in charge of this.

You are berating Dem leaders less than 30 hours after the report was released - on a Saturday no less - about not having subpoenaed Mueller already?

(19,186 posts)When was the last time Trump went to Mar-ma-lado with his entire staff and lawyer corps in tow? Um........... NEVER! So someone tipped Trump off to the fact that Mueller's report was going to the DOJ on Friday. Do you honestly think that Trump didn't already get a preview of the report? I believe 100% that this was a prerequisite for Barr getting the nod for AG from the Orange Hemorrhoid.

(19,186 posts)And if Trump were completely exonerated he'd be crowing from every Mar-ma-lado rooftop this weekend. That Trump has remained completely silent since Friday speaks volumes. His lawyers can't get him to keep his mouth shut. Only Trump himself has control over that heinous mouth of his, and it hasn't flapped all weekend. That tells me that Mueller's report was not good news for Donny-Boy and his progeny.
Hey, you gotta' have hope. Without hope life isn't worth living.

(8,020 posts)report by now, his lawyer working on a whitewash & ways to use the report to their advantage. I think Barr will do whatever his master wants him to do because there really isn't a thing to stop them. You can send warning letters all day but in the end we don't control enough of government to stop these monsters.

(5,586 posts)Flood and his 50 lawyers are probably going over the report with a fine tooth comb.
The report is the work product of the DOJ, a branch of govt under the purview of the President. If Trump asks for the report, Barr will have no choice but to turn it over.
