Mueller report will be delivered by 'mid-April, if not sooner,' attorney general tells Congress
Source: Washington Post
Special counsel Robert S. Mueller IIIs report detailing his investigation of President Trump and Russias election interference will be delivered to Congress by mid-April, Attorney General William P. Barr said Friday in a letter to lawmakers offering important new details about how the document will be edited before its public release.
Everyone will soon be able to read it on their own, Barr wrote.
Barrs new letter lays out a timeline for the next steps of the hotly-debated process by which Justice Department officials are sharing the nearly 400-page report.
In the letter, Bar said he does not plan to submit the report to the White House for review.

(7,520 posts)The prospective redacted Mueller Report is going to look and read like House of Leaves.

(11,088 posts)And congress needs to draw that line. It needs to be given to lawmakers who can review it without redactions before any more corrections are made.

(3,997 posts)Ken Starr's 400+ page opus on President William Jefferson Clinton was NOT given to the Clinton WH ahead of time. In fact, Starr bus loaded hundreds of copies, delivered same to the steps of the Capitol, and had the press notified in advance so they could take pictures/film of a mountain of paper. See pic below!

Result? No impeachment nor fines nor jail time...no shit!
Barr is wise to skip any WH editing but only to save his own ass if it is found later he intentionally mislead Congress. By releasing the full report save some grand jury stuff, at worst Trump could fire him after the fact yet Barr can claim he is/was innocent of any wrongdoing.

(2,785 posts)looks like a tactic to trick house Democrats into not issuing a subpoena if he doesn't meet their April 2 deadline. I would guess that if Democrats do not subpoena mid April will come and go and Barr will then try to push releasing the report until May and beyond.
iluvtennis
(19,835 posts)and attention to detail, Im sure he structured the report as main document and many attachments and appendices. All the stuff that cant be exposed to general public is alr ady appropriately marked. Barr could release it now

(1,220 posts)And the obfuscation on refusing to recommend charges on what everyone knows was and is obstruction of justice that is still going on to this day.
In other words, for finessing and parsing the obvious instead of leveling real charges against top level administration officials like he did against their lackeys who were all just following orders from trump.

(935 posts)Either way, whether they stopped Mueller, or let him finish and intercept. The results are the same. This stinks, don't make sense, and it's making me sick. So much is unclear, and I guess that's by design. Criminals. We get to pay for an investigation we don't even get to see the findings of.
PeeJ52
(1,588 posts)to read it unredacted. Give the report to those with clearance now. There is no reason for Barr and Lindsey Graham to be discussing what's in it and who can see what over dinner. Release the report to Congress.
