GOP candidate expects Roy Moore to announce Senate bid in June
Source: The Hill
Roy Moore hasnt jumped into the 2020 Alabama Senate contest yet, but one potential GOP rival is already welcoming him into the race.
Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-Ala.), who launched his Senate campaign in February, told The Hill hes spoken to GOP sources close to Moore who said the controversial former Alabama judge will announce his candidacy for the Senate in the coming days.
People who I believe know what theyre talking about say that Judge Moore intends to announce his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in June. I welcome him to the race, Byrne said in an interview.
Byrne said those conversations took place within the past week, though he has not personally spoken to Moore. A second member of the Alabama congressional delegation said he also has heard that Moore will announce hes running for the Senate in June.

Women dont forget and many voters dont either.
It's a wonder why the state did not investigate and the Democratic Senator of the state has done a quite well job. The Republicans are looking to win back their senatorial seat in Alabama. But.... I would imagine Doug Jones would rather have Roy Moore again as an opponent then a clean cut Republican representative.
To me..... Alabama is a backwards state!

(1,376 posts)...and that was when the pedophile news was still fresh. The polls have RM leading for the repug nomination even before he had declared.
I'll do my best to re-elect Jones but it will be an uphill climb!

(15,335 posts)At least pretend to be moderate until after November 2020. He has been a very reliable liberal so far, and his votes have been great. But in the long run, that's not good for his future as a Senator. We need to win. Hoping to run against Moore isn't good enough.

Man, I don't even want to fly over Alabama for fear of being tainted with that kind of plague...

(5,914 posts)The scenario that I recall was depicted in the book.
It's not a handsome, square-jawed Hollywood actor who is doing the raping. It's a gross, decrepit, imbecilic asshole like Roy Moore, who just happens to hold the reins of power and will exercise that power in any depraved way he can.
The gross, decrepit, imbecilic assholes are jockeying for power now. Their champion is Donald Trump.
