President Trump on Friday criticized Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) amid a dispute between the freshman congresswoman and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Trump told reporters outside the White House that Ocasio-Cortez is being very disrespectful to somebody whos been there a long time.
Ocasio-Cortez should treat Nancy Pelosi with respect, he added.

She needs to follow the calls the QB makes, however.
First thing, she should can Chakrabarti.

P.S. Donny-Boy, if you want to see AOC be "disrespectful" on a major league basis, sit back and wait for her to comment on you.

(10,129 posts)AOC is being for the congressional Democrats. Her COS suggesting the newly elected moderate Dems are like 40's segregationists is beyond the pale. As I have not heard her rebuke him I assume she and he share that view. Trump and the pukes will make her the face of the Democratic party much to our detriment.

His fingers are just an outlet for the disjointed and nonsensical thoughts of a wandering mind, trapped in a bubble of make believe.

(2,944 posts)robust dialogue and debate between colleagues was good for a democracy, unlike the don't ask questions just follow the leader cult of Rs with Trump. She could have used the moment to be a teaching moment for the public/voters to show that this is how democracy works and used to work (years ago) and encourage civil debate/dialogue between friends and neighbors. Instead she told members of the House to toe the line and follow her lead.
I will never give anyone that sort of authority over my life.

While I've seen some folks on the left take the bait, I think the majority are not going for it. I also suspect those who "took the bait" may have already had negative feelings toward Peolsi for whatever reasons they may have.

(8,200 posts)It is quickly being recognized that AOC is Trump's best weapon. If the very vocal minority in the party who are advancing unreasonable concepts that have absolutely no chance of being actualize become the dominated voice it will open he door for the flight of the important Independent votes. Who wins the Independents votes win the election.
If the Republicans can have their VERY VOCAL minority of far right politicians, then I'll be damned... we need our "far left" politicians speaking truth to power.
Her ideas, in some cases, my not be workable, but they NEED to be espoused. Either that or the Dems can just be a sterile "mainstream" party with no core values other than "we re not Trump". How did that work in 2016?
AOC is not Trump's best weapon, shes one of the very few calling bullshit on this entire fucked up system. WHY do you think the fascist propaganda ministry (Fox News) is so obsessed with her? Because they are scared. Once her and her ilk inspire and mobilize the youth, the disenfranchised, women, minorities, the poor, etc., etc., etc. it's game over.
Yes I realize in our Idiocracy that may not actually happen, because there is a monster truck rally on TV next week.
The Democrats need to be MORE than "we're not Trump" and at least AOC is slogging down to the border to check on the detained refuges. One thing about AOC is it feels like SHE GIVES A SHIT. That's a HUGE thing. I support her 100% of the way.

(8,200 posts)As Moore correctly predicted when Sanders entered the race spewing the same line as Trump regarding Trade agreements and tariffs as protecting the working class Clinton was forced to abandon her support of TPP. Now people are beginning to realize that was a major blunder and opened up the door for China that has lost no time in taking advantage of this blunder. Sanders talked about unfair tariffs, but neglected to even seem to be aware that the TPP would have eliminated 18,000, yes 18,000 tariffs to free trade. Were the problems with the TPP, yes, but they could have been fixed. China couldn't have engineered it more perfectly. Talk about unworkable hairbrained proposals, look no further than Sanders whose total contributions of bills is two post offices named and a shoe in Vet bill. We can be thankful that Trump came to the rescue and attacked the four with outright racists rhetoric.
