House panel chairman says Mueller court action imminent

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said on Friday that he will go to court on Friday to seek access to grand jury evidence compiled by former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s 22-month probe of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

A second pending legal move by Democrats, a federal lawsuit to compel testimony from former White House Counsel Don McGahn about Republican President Donald Trump’s efforts to impede the Russia probe, will come early next week, Nadler told CNN.

McGahn, a star witness in the 448-page Mueller report released in April, told federal investigators that Trump directed him to seek Mueller’s removal and then to deny that he had been instructed to do so. Democrats view the alleged episode as an act of obstruction of justice that could lead to impeachment proceedings against Trump.

“We will win the court fight because the legal excuses the White House has been using are extraordinarily weak from a legal point of view,” Nadler told CNN.

But Democrats say that testimony from McGahn about Trump’s efforts to remove Mueller could give them the evidence they need for an impeachment inquiry. McGahn declined to testify earlier this year after the White House directed him not to cooperate with the committee.

Criminal intent is still criminal intent and that asshole traitor(s) sitting in the white house along with everyone else that has gone through those doors has in my opinion been part of criminal intent....................LOCK THEM UP...........................

She praised Gorsuch and Kavanaugh as being "decent" and "smart".

"I can say that my two newest colleagues are very decent and very smart individuals," she said Wednesday at an event in Washington, D.C., hosted by Duke Law as she answered questions from Neil Siegel, a law professor and one of her former law clerks.

Now that the Supreme Court term has ended, Ginsburg, 86, has been pushing back against criticism of the court, saying in a recent interview with NPR that the nine justices work well together and rebutted the idea that the Supreme Court is a partisan institution, according to the news outlet.

So no matter what the outcome of this push is, a reminder that one of the most effective ways to stop the sabotage of our nation by the republicans is to remove the tools that they're using from their hands.

Vote blue across the board in 2020.

all the time. Fascists. It is what they are — and many of their voters don’t even know it.

The Right has successfully labeled Democrats as “socialists and communist” by throwing those terms around every opportunity they’ve had for decades. It’s about time we do the same.

of the people agitating for impeachment now, damn the consequences.

They are taking steps toward it. I am glad to see this activity. They need to take all the necessary steps first.

a lot of that may address the GOPs most damaging secret - russian use of talk radio going back at least a decade, with russians using it to coordinate with trump since 2014, when sam nunberg says he "listened to 1000s of hours of talk radio" - the same year a russian troll said he got "a list of topics to write about", the same year those indicted russians were visiting particular states. nunberg must be asked what states he listened to talk radio in and what he was asked to listen for and put in his reports for stone and trump. media can do that, nunberg is around.

"Democrats view the alleged episode as an act of obstruction of justice"

Would love to know what has happened to them. It's as if Conrad Black were looking over their shoulder.
