After pair of mass shootings, Trump remains out of sight

Source: AP

As the nation reeled from two mass shootings in less than a day, President Donald Trump spent the first hours after the tragedies out of sight at his New Jersey golf course, sending out tweets of support awkwardly mixed in with those promoting a celebrity fight and attacking his political foes.

Trump was to travel back to Washington later Sunday and aides said he would likely address reporters, but the nation did not glimpse the president in the immediate aftermath of a shooting in El Paso, Texas, that killed at least 20 people and, hours later, one in Dayton, Ohio, that claimed at least nine lives. Never seemingly comfortable consoling a nation in grief, Trump will be carefully watched for his response to the attacks, again inviting comparison to his predecessors who have tried to heal the country in moments of national trauma.

Investigators focused on whether the El Paso attack was a hate crime after the emergence of a racist, anti-immigrant screed that was posted online shortly beforehand. Detectives sought to determine if it was written by the man who was arrested.

In recent weeks, the president has issued racist tweets about four women of color who serve in Congress, and in rallies has spoken of an “invasion” at the southern border. His reelection strategy so far has placed racial animus at the forefront in an effort that his aides say is designed to activate his base of conservative voters, an approach not seen by an American president in the modern era.

Really got sick of Kelly ODonnell, White House spox, hanging around the golf course buffering his coward ass all day. Trying to explain his lack of response as strategic and caring for the lost lives, like he respected the grieving of those Latinos.

Everyone knows exactly what he is. He is a MF Racist. If he says anything that even resembles a civil response, we all know the words will have come from someone else's hand. He has not a single iota of sensitivity in his body for anyone but himself and his "family". He is a sociopath in the same vein as Vladimir Putin, Jeffrey Epstein, Roger Stone, Roger Ailes, Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones, etc. He has no credibility. Neither do the Republicans, the NRA, nor any of his/their apologists. I see that some people are starting to get out and protest on both sides. It is time we start organizing in the numbers that show everyone in Washington that we are the vast majority of Americans (patriots) and are willing to fight for our country.

Notice to all people in the United States claiming to be citizens: If you aren't willing to protect our country from Russian/Chinese/UAE/Saudi Arabian/North Korean cyber attacks, including but not limited to on our elections; if you aren't willing to speak out forcefully against racism; if you don't believe that all people are created equal and should be treated as such under the law; GET THE FUCK OUT! Go live in any of the aforementioned countries that are attacking us right now. You deserve nothing less!

He can do no right in this situation. If he tries to say the appropriate thing, everyone will know he is full of shit. If he says anything else, it will be even worse. Keeping a low profile is probably the best thing he can do for himself right now.

By Monday they'll have informed him how to go about this. No doubt a combination of Obama, Hillary's emails, the "librul" media and AOC will be the cause of this and a stern warning that "if you don't want more of this, vote Republican!"

The dilemma is that headline writers and journalist can’t say that. The word “murder “ implies a verdict. Unless charged with murder, it can’t be used in a hard news story.

Would "killer" be a little less disturbing to dear reader?

Those people did not die naturally in their sleep at home.
Those people did not die from fugu poisoning at a seafood restaurant.
Those people did not get buried by sand in a cliff face collapse.

The article itself can use careful language when direct references are made to the perpetrator, such as "so-and-so will be charged", "the alleged murderer", in order to satisfy a pro-forma "innocent until proven guilty". Some news services end a segment or article with a statement like "The charges have not been proven in court".

These articles still manage to talk about all the facts as facts even though some jury (or judge) has yet to establish them. They manage to say things like "the shooter fired point blank at a woman covering her two month child and she died at the scene".

So they can call them murders.

Everyone knows they are responsible for the rhetoric, the inaction, the obstruction. They own it.

This is the period of time when the consequences of their policies and style of governing came home to roost.

Projection and hypocrisy will only work as strategies for so long. They are nakedly responsible and their only answer is to deflect attention, deny, lie, and obstruct.

He adds nothing to the discussion and is incapable of assuaging the grief and heartbreak.

I did see that one of his ass-lickers, Mulvaney, said that "No politician is to blame for this." Wrong, Mick, they are ALL to blame for this.
