IN A BOOST FOR BAYER, U.S. TO BLOCK WARNING LABELS ON GLYPHOSATE

Source: Successful Farming News

The EPA told herbicide makers to remove cancer warnings from containers of glyphosate, the most widely used weedkiller in the world, in a step that would benefit seed and ag chemical giant Bayer.

In July 2017, California’s Office of Environmental Health Assessment added glyphosate to its list of chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. The listing followed the 2015 conclusion by the UN International Agency for Research on Cancer that glyphosate is “probably carcinogenic to humans.”

The EPA said it will not approve labels that include a cancer warning against glyphosate and it gave companies with glyphosate products 90 days to submit new labels that remove any warnings. In February 2018, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction against the warning labels.

Hundreds of lawsuits are pending in U.S. courts alleging glyphosate led to cancer in people who used the herbicide. A published report said Bayer was ready to pay $8 billion to settle all U.S. claims.

We need to put a high priority on a total ban of glyphosate and all (including imported) glyphosate-tainted products.

He raced him to the vet for a biopsy but she only checked one area which was clear. Then another lump- now she tested 3 areas and found the ca but it was too late.

They were absolutely heart broken as he was their "baby" and they took him everywhere.

Despite me asking them not to. The poor kid ended up with the back-spray in his face. They were spraying it from the back of an ATV. I watched as he hurriedly tried to wipe it off his face and arms.

He seems to have been OK. He graduated from high school this year and has had no major illnesses....yet.

But his mother got cancer about that time.

I always lost an animal when they sprayed. A lamb or chicken would die within 3 days of them spraying. It was like clock work.

They finally stopped spraying 2 years ago when I took over maintenance of the fence. Now, I maintain the mile long fence line with a weed whacker, too hilly for a tractor. Hard work but better than getting cancer.

Fuck this shit. Revoke corporate personhood & Reclaim Democracy!

snip...

Our Bill of Rights was the result of tremendous efforts to institutionalize and protect the rights of human beings. It strengthened the premise of our Constitution: that the people are the root of all power and authority for government. This vision has made our Constitution and government a model emulated in many nations.

But corporate lawyers (acting as both attorneys and judges) subverted our Bill of Rights in the late 1800’s by establishing the doctrine of “corporate personhood” — the claim that corporations were intended to fully enjoy the legal status and protections created for human beings.

We believe that corporations are not persons and possess only the privileges we willfully grant them. Granting corporations the status of legal “persons” effectively rewrites the Constitution to serve corporate interests as though they were human interests. Ultimately, the doctrine of granting constitutional rights to corporations gives a thing illegitimate privilege and power that undermines our freedom and authority as citizens. While corporations are setting the agenda on issues in our Congress and courts, We the People are not; for we can never speak as loudly with our own voices as corporations can with the unlimited amplification of money.

Corporations
...feel no pain
...don't require clean air, safe drinking water, or healthy food
...they can live forever
...they can't be put in prison
...they can change their identity and citizenship

Only corporations have rights like human beings. Labor unions, churches, unincorporated businesses, civic groups, & even our government, have only privileges, not rights. But not corporations - they are on equal footing with human beings.

SLAVERY IS THE FICTION THAT PEOPLE ARE PROPERTY
CORPORATE PERSONHOOD IS THE FICTION THAT CORPORATIONS ARE PEOPLE

Reclaim Democracy!

and everyone knows water is good for you.......

They refuse to do anything to prevent killers with AR-15s so why would we expect them to do anything about hidden killers like cancer-causing chemicals?

Everything the GOP does goes back to protecting all corporate profits and creating jobs with no regards to health, safety or our environment.

We told the orange ass to pound sand on his mileage standards and off shore drilling.

We are big enough and strong enough to legislate our own health and safety laws.

If you want to be poisoned by Roundup or wish to breath gas fumes, or die of thirst because the good water is bottled and shipped out by Nestle, then by all means, please get the fuck out of California.

You are fighting a losing battle with educated common sense rules and regulation.

Maybe move to Pasadena.

I just mow whatever grows in the yard that needs mowing. If I want to plant something, I plant it. If I don't like something that's growing, I pull it out by the roots. Yes it's hard work, but it's effective and I know I'm not spraying poison in my environment.
