NRA Spent Tens of Thousands on Hair and Makeup for CEO's Wife
Source: Daily Beast
The NRA spent tens of thousands of dollars bringing hair and makeup artists around the country for the wife of its CEO, two sources told The Daily Beast. The expenseswhich included plane flights and luxury hotel stays for the stylistsare bound to fuel an already-raging debate over what some see as a spendthrift culture in the NRAs upper echelons. The NRA, meanwhile, called it a non-story, and said their ex-ad firm was responsible for any such expenses.
Susan LaPierre, the wife of longtime NRA chief Wayne LaPierre, is one of the gun organizations many public faces, and co-chairs its Womens Leadership Forum. She often speaks at that groups annual gatherings for female NRA supporters. And for years now, the NRA has paid for a makeup artist and a hair stylist, both based in Nashville and plugged in to the country music scene, to do LaPierres hair and make-up at events around the country, according to two sources familiar with the arrangements.
The NRA Womens Leadership Forum hosts many of its events in major metropolitan areas where local hair and makeup talent abounds. But because of LaPierres preference for the Nashville artists, the gun group has paid a premium to fly them around the country, and put them up in style.
That may be changing, though, as those expenditures have raised eyebrows within the NRA. According to one of the sources, the stylists were booked to provide hair and makeup services for LaPierre at its member gathering in Indianapolis this past April. But as media reports emerged with allegations of extravagant spending by the gun group, NRA officials worried the Nashville stylists presence could attract scrutiny. So they canceled on them at the last minute. Because the cancellation came so late, the NRA still had to pay their fees.

Breaks all the rules, scams people, spends money that is not his. How STUPID are the NRA members, to let this creep and his wife live so large on their donations?

(From the money rubes gave the NRA who gave it to the ad agency)
But of course, this requires two steps of logic which is one step beyond the mental capabilities of the average NRA/Trump believer.

Kind of reminds you of the Auto Industry that was not making a profit, yet paid the CEO $24 million a year, plus fancy jets and vacations, meanwhile insisting the workers take huge cuts.

Anyway, orders went out- no more coffee etc. But three of the managers working for me, anticipating what was coming each took it upon themselves to order 3 months of coffee. Imagine my horror when 9 months worth of coffee for a workplace of 40 showed up 3 days after the no coffee edict went out! We hid that shit everywhere! Boxes and boxes of it! We were about to run out when we were told coffee was allowed. I work for an 80 Billion dollar company. But they went after the workers coffee. Still one of the prouder moments of my career!

comment from a blog (DU I think)
I had a coworker who was a big time gun owner who kept a gun in every room in the house just in case someone broke in (lots of problems with that idea, may be worth a blog article someday, but thats what he did). He even went so far as to start buying more guns for each room after a school shooting, like home invasion and mass shooting are correlated somehow. He had let his NRA membership lapse and refused to renew it because he got tired of nonstop requests for donations. To him all the membership did was give the NRA to badger him for more money with phone calls, and direct mailings. If the
organization is as strapped for cash as it appears, those solicitations may have gone way over the top and people are simply tired of being badgered for money and are choosing to let their membership to lapse.
