The president once again told his dubious story that he and a team of employees helped at Ground Zero — an assertion nobody has been able to prove.

During a speech at the Pentagon on the 18th anniversary of the attacks, Trump again contended that he and a team of men went to the scene soon after witnessing the second plane crash into a World Trade Center tower.

“Soon after, I went down to Ground Zero with men who worked for me to try to help in any little way that we could,” he said. “We were not alone. So many others were scattered around trying to do the same. They were all trying to help.”

The president has a long history of telling various unsupported and questionable accounts of his actions, whereabouts and responses on the day of the attacks ― many of which have been discredited by people who were on the ground.

In an interview with a German TV station two days after the attack, Trump said he had more than 100 men on the ground.

“I have a lot of men down here right now,” he said. “We have over 100 and we have 125 coming. So we’ll have a couple of hundred people down here.”

Alles said there would certainly be a record if Trump had sent a crew of that size.......................................

and many of the people escaping this horror are dead; those who aren't have been suffering from a variety of cancers and respiratory illnesses. How is it that Chump and his "lot of men" have not suffered the same fate from exposure? What are the odds that they would all be fine when so many others with short exposure to the toxins are not?

Not a shred of this claim is to be believed until such time as Chump can prove unconditionally that he was there. Pics, or it didn't happen, and you know if Chump was there, there would be pics and promotion.

On the day of 9-11, he told an interviewer that since the World Trade Center buildings were gone, his own building at 40 Wall Street was now the tallest in downtown Manhattan.

At a ceremony for first responders at the WH, he told them, "I wouldn't call myself a first responder, but I was down there cleaning up." No one remembers seeing him.

He said he sent hundreds of men to help, but the firemen and policemen said no one outside their units were involved or needed. (To be fair, the Red Cross put all the donations they solicited "for the victims of 9-11" into its general operating fund, so Trump's not the only liar here.)

He said he lost "hundreds" of friends on 9-11, yet not a single person has been named. Also, this statement implies that Trump has friends, which is doubtful. Trump only surrounds himself with people he feels superior to. People Trump knows fall into two categories: (1) people he has fucked over, and (2) people he will fuck over.
