House Judiciary Committee to hold 1st impeachment hearing

WASHINGTON (AP) As they investigate President Donald Trump, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee will hold their first official hearing in what they are calling an impeachment investigation.
Corey Lewandowski, Trumps outspoken, loyal former campaign manager, is scheduled to appear Tuesday to discuss the report by former special counsel Robert Mueller. But its unlikely that Democrats will get much new information as they decide whether to draft articles of impeachment against the president.

Still, the Judiciary panel is moving ahead, approving rules for impeachment hearings last week. Among those guidelines is allowing staff to question witnesses, as will happen for the first time with Lewandowski.
Lewandowski was a central figure in Muellers report. Muellers investigators detailed two episodes in which Trump asked Lewandowski to direct then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions to limit Muellers investigation. Trump said that if Sessions would not meet with Lewandowski, then Lewandowski should tell Sessions he was fired.

(4,390 posts)obstruction by the witness and GOP interrogators of twisted logic; the others didn't even bother to show up. For these reasons, these witnesses should be held in "contempt of Congress" and locked up until they decide to verbally tell the truth of their complicity in the Oval Office's executive's obstruction of law and abuse of power.
I think of this as an open Grand Jury hearing testimony before making a recommendation for advancing a case to trial in the House then sending their verdict to the jury of the Senate (where I have no doubt there will be further obstruction).
