The impeachment inquiry: "We could not ignore what the president did."
Source: CBS News / 60 Minutes
Tonight, "60 Minutes" has obtained a letter that indicates the government whistleblower who set off the impeachment inquiry of President Trump is under federal protection, because he or she fears for their safety. These rapidly developing events began Tuesday when Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi ordered the investigation based on a phone call between Mr. Trump and the president of Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky asked Mr. Trump for missiles, Mr. Trump asks Zelensky for "a favor" to investigate Mr. Trump's Democratic rivals.

(22,665 posts)They are tRumps unwitting shadow government and militia or waffen SS, if you will. They are blind to reality and think they are patriots, when they are the exact opposite, domestic terrorists.

(5,088 posts)Or 'brownshirts' if you will. (I agree that they are domestic terrorists. That is exactly what they are). Little more than trashy street thugs, they intimidate and harass in a manner similar to the KKK. They should be treated as such, rounded up, and made to answer for their positions on their adoration of that child's call for civil unrest based solely on his personal lamentations over his bruised ego, and their participation in either actions, or complicit coverup of actions, that are designed to facilitate civil unrest and/or disobedience to the very laws they have been waving in our faces for decades. Hey, they are the ones who used to always say, "If you have not done anything or have anything to hide, then you are okay" when we complained about intrusive laws and policy. Time to show them that crap works both ways. If they have done nothing against the law or against the country i.e.: plotting against the rule of law and/or basically plotting insurrection (let's not sugar coat it.. they never do), then they should not have a problem with some questioning and investigation to prove they did nothing wrong. Correct? Exactly correct.

(10,122 posts)as traitors. You'd only worry if they were revealing stuff that was true.
Trump is so stupid. With his threats to punish "spies" for "treason", he's basically admitting that these second hand hearsay accounts of the whistleblower must be true.
He's not going to advocate killing someone for making stuff up because that would be a personal suicide wish 12,000 times over since taking office!
45 and Giuliani have gifted as clearing as they can to the whole World they did everything written about them. Which, I guess, is there only defense...since they actually did everything written about them.
