Trump asks if House Intel Chair Adam Schiff should face 'arrest for treason'
Source: CNBC
President Donald Trump on Monday suggested that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff could face arrest for treason over his recent statement about Trumps call with Ukraines president.
Rep. Adam Schiff illegally made up a FAKE & terrible statement, pretended it to be mine as the most important part of my call to the Ukrainian President, and read it aloud to Congress and the American people, Trump tweeted.
It bore NO relationship to what I said on the call. Arrest for Treason? he added.
Neither the White House nor a spokesman for Schiff, D-Calif., immediately responded to CNBCs request for comment on the presidents tweet. The fiery tweet accusing Schiff a leading voice on the Houses impeachment inquiry into Trump of illegally misrepresenting him came days after the president said at a private staff event that we used to handle spies and treason a little differently than we do now.

(6,960 posts)When a 'President of the United States' talks/tweets about arresting a political opponent for treason you have a prima facia case of abuse of power.
When a 'President of the United States' talks/tweets threatening "civil war" you have a plain case of breaking his oath of office by subverting his duty to "insure domestic Tranquility".
