Bolton's lawyer says he has information on Ukraine that hasn't been disclosed
Source: CNN
Washington (CNN)Former national security adviser John Bolton has "personal knowledge" of relevant meetings and conversations "that have not yet been discussed in testimonies thus far" as part of the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, but he is still refusing to testify until a federal judge rules in an ongoing legal fight between House committees and the White House, according to his lawyer.
Bolton's lawyer, Charles Cooper, wrote a letter to lawmakers Friday in which he teased the idea that his client could offer new details related to the impeachment probe, as well as additional context about events that have been described in other witness testimony.
Bolton "was personally involved in many of the events, meetings, and conversations about which you have already received testimony, as well as many relevant meetings and conversations that have not yet been discussed in the testimonies thus far," the letter reads.

My money is on Barr slipping some fake documents like Turd Blossom used to do to divert attention. Maybe Bolton will say, yes the Biden issue was real, but Trump was wrong about holding back arms and that's why he said it was a bad "Drug Deal."
Bam! life ring for Bid Daddy, something Barr will falsely claim to say yes, I verified that too, and right on time for kitchen table Thanksgiving discussions.
This new Bolton move is a little late for the party, and smells even though he resigned or, he knows more than what he's saying publicly WRT maybe even some explainable culpability.

(5,624 posts)Bolton is a creep. But he has Trump's tiny pecker in his hand.

(565 posts)But, he does draw on history and the need for Ukraine to be strong. There was a dream of Ukraine being part of NATO one day. Putin absolutely could not have that so he tickled Trump's nuts! Actually that tickling has been going on for decades!

(73,536 posts)as Bolton is -- and he is a war criminal -- he is distinct from Trump in that he is intelligent. And he documented conversations about Ukraine, because he knew the scandal would surface.
MartyTheGreek
(565 posts)So keep that in mind... Maybe something came out and now Bolton has to wash his hands?
H2O Man
(73,536 posts)Bolton organized with others to speak directly to Trump about exactly why the operation with the Ukraine was illegal, foolish, and going to lead to impeachment. Bolton had at least three heated discussions on this with Trump. And he took notes.

(565 posts)I'm thinking they sold him on the Biden conspiracy theory and that became his marching orders, until Bolton learned that Trump was going to withhold it for the much needed Defensive Weaponry and BTW, we should start calling it that! So then, Bolton had his tasking but it was separate from the order to hold up the weapons. Were's the pictures from the Ukraine front line anyway?
There has already been testimony that quotes Bolton calling Rudy a hand grenade that would blow up everyone. He was quoted as calling the Ukraine bit a "drug deal."
The Democrats have had several serious conversations with Bolton's lawyer. Bolton had requested a subpoena, which is fair if it is known Trump would try to prevent him from testifying with their discussions. The Democrats know when it is most important to have him testify -- after next week. He will blow Trump out of the water.
Again, Bolton is not our friend in any way. He is a war-monger, who has had too much influence on our foreign policy. But he isn't Trump's friend now, either.

(565 posts)Man I hope your right about after next week. Note that Rudy has been going over there for some time now like two years greasing the skids. I hope the thread on that get's pulled more and harder! Politicians are beginning to really worry about there legacy and future post Trump. It's beyond feeling now and an end-game reality is setting in for Trump's demise and more weakening of the gop considering last weeks' election results in AL and VA from where I chime in.

(73,536 posts)start an essay for DU:GD to address Bolton and also the book by "anonymous." I think I've learned a few things of interest -- even since we started talking here -- that helps shed light on these two topics. I'll try to add some stray comment on Virginia in it, as my way of saying our conversation gave me the drive to write something more detailed.
Thanks!

(565 posts)now that several witnesses have spoken, many high ranking, but he can't deny what Trump did.
Offering something says, I did something bad but I'm a hero for standing up for Trump but I had no idea, he was gonna go there with holding back Ukraine's weapons and funding.

(565 posts)Takes up too much time enabling them to create doubt and change or make more stories.
Our fake paid for position of a $1 cool million cash to Trump's campaign, EU ambassador Gordon D. Sondland, had to come back and change his story, so maybe Bolton want's to get out front? But, again waiting for a judge is totally BS.

(14,708 posts)1. To Screw Trump. His ego was badly beaten by a moron he now despises.
B. To keep his reputation as a conservative thug. He doesn't want to be seen as helping the democrats hurt a gop potus. He wants to be forced to do it by the courts.
iii. He wants to get rich off his upcoming book and speaking tours. He needs B to pull that off.
But if he gets left behind, and doesn't get to testify, he loses all three. Nobody will care.

(5,499 posts)Bolton can maintain his conservative credibility and take Trump down. I think the real problem that Bolton has is that Trump is just paying lip service to supporting Ukraine. The Bush administration was no friend to Putin. I always thought it was odd that Bolton joined Trump's team given how Trump speaks of the Bush family. But I think Bolton's ego made him think he could go in and have real influence. Then he met the real crazy that is Trump. And he didn't last very long.

(4,341 posts)One word for him...Epstein...If the cons know what kind of information Bolton can provide to the inquiry and how incriminating it is, they are going to find a way to keep him quiet, I would come out with the information as soon as possible, that is his best protection.
