Latest impeachment developments: Trump weighs in on 'star' witnesses

Source: The Hill

President Trump in an early morning tweet on Thursday weighed in on the two "star" witnesses in the first public impeachment hearing on Wednesday.

".@RepRatcliffe asked the two 'star' witnesses, 'where is the impeachable event in that call?' Both stared straight ahead with a blank look on their face, remained silent, & were unable to answer the question," he said, referring to Rep. John Ratcliff (R-Texas), a member of the House Intelligence Committee.

"That would be the end of a case run by normal people! - but not Shifty!" he added, using his nickname for Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).

You can't explain anything to them, either.

What are we going to do about them?

The reason that Taylor & Kent did not take the bait is because they were too smart to do so.
Both of them said they were there to give the facts and not give political opinions.

BTW did Trump say he didn't watch the hearing?

Only the House decides what constitutes abuse of power. And only the Senate judges the offenses.

When the time comes, he can claim Senate vote against removal "exoneration" all he wants -- the degree to which they are the definition of a crooked jury is crystal clear. Effectively, Trump's threats against any Senator who would dare vote against him constitutes jury tampering.

I think they know that if it were a secret vote, he would go down.

10. Asking Kent and Taylor if they thought impeachment would be needed was a trap question.

Both of them were too smart to answer it.

Witnesses need to stick to “Just the facts. All we want are the facts" (for anyone old enough to recall Dragnet).

12. If they answered yes, "Trump has done impeachable acts," then Trump & Company would have dropped:

See, these people were always anti-trumpers but when they choose not to answer that trap ? Trump then
attacks them for not really believing that he had done impeachable actions.

Both Kent and Taylor have lifetimes of experience in the understanding of the exact use of language. They
were both on their games yesterday and it showed.

BTW
One thing that is now catching on with lots of Americans is that they have poisoned the intellectual well
of the dumb fucks because now some people really do think that "the whistle-blower," is some kind of big
conspiracy problem. It doesn't matter that no truth is there but that meme by shear repetition has gained
some kind of dumb fuck brain space traction. (Just like they did with "the Hillary's emails" meme.)

... is that it's so effective.

We need to be banging a different drum. Shift from talking about this whistleblower and name and describe the acts heroes who have brought about much needed change.

At least CBS is airing this:

The first ones are setting it up. Repubs jump all over them because of this or that. They weren't there etc. etc.

In the next few days there will those that were there and did hear directly, and then they are screwed. You wanted first hand info, well here it is.

They are being set up or they are just stupid.

Nope. Bill Taylor tried to say "LET ME REITERATE" and stand up to asshole-cliffe but he rudely shut down Bill Taylor.

Not the same as "staring straight ahead with a blank look on their face".

He was reiterating the fact that he was there to provide witness testimony - the truth as he saw it. Not to reach an impeachable conclusion.

That's Congress's job.

I remember that particular exchange and recall that after a pause Bill Taylor said words to the effect that the rules around impeachment are Congress' concerns, not his.
