A 15-year-old with no arms or legs was tackled and pinned by a cop in a 'horrific' video

Source: Washington Post

The shirtless 15-year-old screams as he lies facedown on the kitchen floor of his Tucson group home. He has no arms or legs, so he can’t flee or fight back. But a cop at least twice his size is crouching over him and pinning him to the ground, using his body weight to restrain the quadruple amputee.

The eight-minute cellphone video has now prompted an internal affairs investigation at the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, according to KOLD, which first published the footage on Thursday. But Pima County Public Defender Joel Feinman told The Washington Post that the disturbing incident likely wouldn’t have come to light if it weren’t for another teenager at the group home, who filmed the confrontation and then had his head slammed into the wall by deputies.

“These are kids who have already been traumatized in some way,” said Feinman, whose office is representing both boys. If a parent reacted to their teenager acting up in the same way the deputy did, he added, “they might be arrested for child abuse.”

While most information about the teens is being withheld to protect their privacy, Feinman said that Immanuel, the 15-year-old quadruple amputee, is in state custody because he was abandoned by his parents. On the morning of September 26, an adult who works at the group home called police to report that Immanuel had knocked over a trash can and was yelling and screaming. Feinman isn’t sure what got the teenager riled up, and, in his opinion, it doesn’t matter.“15-year-olds who have not been through what Immanuel went through act out all the time,” he pointed out.

This revolting situation should never happen to anyone, much less a traumatized child. And why were police called in the first place to deal with a child who overturned a trashcan. Group homes need counselors, not militarized police!

they'd quickly be "unemployed cops".
Or if they couldn't be fired, they'd be demoted, and ostracized by their peers until they quit on their own.

I don't understand why they called the cops on the first place. The teen who filmed the incident is the only positive thing about this whole mess.

My guess is something awful and he used the F word. Cops don't like that, so they respond. You don't like the way they respond, well...........F U.....

...................Important idea:........................................
(I also believe that cops in large cities that see a whole lot of s**t, and know how to respond, would not do what this idiot did. It seems a fellow with no arms or legs is no threat, and yes, a New York City cop who has seen a whole lot of s**t, would know how to act)

What the hell is wrong with police in Arizona? Is there a central academy these guys go to? Isn't this the same state that produced the police that drew their weapons on that mother holding her baby because the toddler "stole" a barbieish doll from a dollar store? What the hell Arizona?

He starts to walk back, but that is when the video ends. I think if he was hurt, it would have said that in a number of articles I read about this. Yes, I did read more than one on this topic, because it caught my interest. None said he was hurt, and I am sure if the cops hurt him, it would have said that.
