Navy Says White House Will Not Intervene In SEAL's Disciplinary Proceeding
Source: Huffpo
WASHINGTON (AP) The Navy has been notified that the White House will not intervene to stop a disciplinary proceeding that could cost a SEAL his position in the elite unit, a senior Navy official said Sunday.
Although President Donald Trump had tweeted on Thursday that he would not let the Navy remove Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher from the SEALs, the Navy was given White House guidance on Friday that it can proceed as planned, the Navy official said. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal matters.

(12,361 posts)the Navy can still bring him up on an Article 15 charge, he was still on active duty, I think, when he went on Fox n Friends and slammed his superior officers.
Hopefully they do and bust him down in rank thereby reducing his retirement pay.

(8,203 posts)Talking with my son who is a retired 21 years Navy Chief - he is in convo with many of his retired Navy folk's and they are so worried about the moral of the enlists rank and file..he wrote to me saying;
"Good news afa E7 Gallagher. The Chief's mess won't allow him in...he's not a chief...he's an E7 - (big insult, chief speak). I suppose when you go online and call superior officers names, Yeah, it's not going to end well for him. He doesn't need to receive lifetime benefits if you ask me...that's for another day...
When there is a D in the WH, that trident will get yanked...it's pretty clear here...you piss off an admiral? Stand by".
Update- he said.."I went onto NYT website and let it fly...had a lot of recommendations...and reading the comments - We are not alone here...all the comments were condemning the loser"...
