Brazil's President Blames Leonardo DiCaprio Donations for Amazon Fires

Source: Associated Press

BY ASSOCIATED PRESS 1:13 PM EST

(RIO DE JANEIRO) — Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro is blaming actor Leonardo DiCaprio for making donations to nonprofit organizations that he claims are behind some of the fires in the Amazon rainforest.

Bolsonaro told supporters Friday: “DiCaprio is a cool guy, isn’t he? Giving money to set the Amazon on fire.”

DiCaprio’s environmental organization has pledged $5 million to help protect the Amazon after fires destroyed large parts of the rainforest in July and August.

He has followed a strikingly similar rhetoric and model. As have others. That is precisely why the danger Drumpf poses to our republic and the entire world is so dire and must be countered at every turn.

He probably still advises Bolsonazi as president - though probably under the table to avoid scandal.

Millions of Brazilian taxpayer dollars (or reais) have been spent I bet.

It's no secret Nutty yahoo had an oar in the Brazilian election as well.

Brazil's Workers' Party, as you know, were among the most prominent supporters of Palestinian rights in the third world.

The idea of having Brazil, a nation of 215 million, once again become a critical voice against Isreali ethnic cleansing must have irked Bibi to no end.
