Coronavirus Live Updates: New Fears in Washington State

Source: NY Times

The coronavirus may have been in Washington State for weeks, and 150 to 1,500 may have been infected.

As Washington State declared a state of emergency over the new coronavirus, researchers who studied two cases in the state say that the virus may have been spreading there for weeks, suggesting the possibility that up to 1,500 people in the state may have been infected.

The findings suggest that the virus has been spreading in the community for close to six weeks, according to one of the scientists who compared the sequences, Trevor Bedford, an associate professor at the University of Washington.

If that is true, it could mean that 150 to 1,500 people “have either been infected and recovered or currently are infected now,” said Mike Famulare, a researcher at the Institute for Disease Modeling in Bellevue, Wash., who performed the analysis. Those cases, if they exist, have thus far been undetected.

Claiming it was contained when it wasn't. No wonder the markets dropped so badly, they don't believe his BS either. Appointing pence to be over it , and silencing medical officials only have made it worse, a lot worse. Soon trump and pence will let it be know no one can put any information, the truth out anywhere in this country , instead of their propaganda filed with lies like they are now doing. The American people are being intentionally lied to about this virus by trump and his lackey's now. Do the American people really want people in control of our country lying constantly to us, especially with something this dangerous? I don't.

then there are a couple of possible implications. One death from this virus has been confirmed. There may have been other deaths that were ascribed to pneumonia or another cause before COVID-19 testing was available or indicated. Or maybe the death rate is lower than feared. Of course, more deaths may occur in the coming days. I live in Eugene and the University of Oregon has a large population of Chinese students, many of whom traveled home for winter break.

Nothing happening there yet. But I think a lot will be revealed in the next few weeks.

The Louvre museum in Paris has remained shut amid concerns over France's coronavirus outbreak.

Staff at the Louvre - the most visited museum in world - voted "almost unanimously" not to open on Sunday, a union representative said.

On Saturday the French government banned all indoor gatherings of more than 5,000 people, in an effort to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.

France has reported 100 cases of the Covid-19 disease. Two people have died.

There can never be enough information out there. The more informed we are, the less likely we are to panic and react foolishly, which is why I say this :

EVERY ONE NEEDS TO CALL THEIR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES AND DEMAND THAT THE INFORMATION WE RECEIVE IS NOT FILTERED THROUGH PENCE (WHO IS TOTALLY UNFIT TO BE IN CHARGE OF THIS) OR OTHER TRUMP WHORES. WE NEED ANTHONY FAUCI GIVING US AN UPDATE EVERY DAY.

is concerned. "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me".

I do trust Fauci but I am putting my faith in the medical professionals who are not related to politics, like the Epidemiology expert on Bill Maher the other night, Dr. Anne Rimoin. I trust my state govt (CA) more than the Fed Govt.
