N.H. coronavirus patient breaks isolation, potentially exposing others

Source: NBC News

The first coronavirus patient in New Hampshire — an employee of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center — defied instructions from public health officials to stay away from other people.

In a statement, the state Department of Health and Human Services said the patient attended an invitation-only private event Friday "despite having been directed to self-isolate."

It’s like the people who don’t vaccinate their children. They put vulnerable people at risk.

People who are infected do not have the legal right to purposely infect others. What shocks me is that this person works in health care. Either they are stupid or incredibly self-absorbed.

Flu patients: I feel like crap. I’m gonna stay in bed, get some rest. Can I have some orange juice, please?
Carina patients: Now’s the time to see the world! I’m gonna start off at the food court at the mall, then it’s time for a cruise. Wonder if they have good food in... wherever it is I’m going. Huzzah!

He/she is a drumpf voter and a future Darwin Award winner.

Hopefully that 'invite-only' only event was for drumpf and his followers.

So decided it was overblown. Not realizing or caring that many are asymptomatic, and some only have mild symptoms. But many get real sick and some die. Selfish. Works at a medical center so especially stupid. Yeah probably a Magat.

From the article:

New Hampshire reported Tuesday that a second person, a close contact of the first patient, has also tested positive for the coronavirus. It's unclear, however, whether the second patient, a man, attended the private event or was exposed as a result of the first person's having broken isolation.

Health officials in New Hampshire are asking anyone who attended the gathering to self-quarantine for 14 days.

and...
The action prompted the state to issue "an official order of isolation to the first patient." Most states have such rules. And breaking the rules may be punishable, depending on the state.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says states have "police power functions to protect the health, safety, and welfare of persons within their borders." That includes the enforcement of laws to enforce isolation (when a person is sick) or quarantine (when a person isn't sick but has been exposed to a pathogen).

The CDC says most states regard breaking a quarantine order as a criminal misdemeanor.

I believe what this is saying is that a formal, written order must be given for it to be enforceable.

We have an enormous amount of idiots like this in the country.

I've followed this situation since it first started making news in China and some video got out. Some people were spitting on handrails, on piles of masks, etc.

You're going to have lunatics that put other people's lives at risk.
