WASHINGTON (AP) The latest on the Democratic presidential primary and Super Tuesday (all times local):
11 p.m.
Bernie Sanders has won Californias Democratic presidential primary. The state has 415 delegates at stake, the biggest haul on the electoral map.
Sanders campaign has long seen the nations most populous state as a critical early contest and has had droves of volunteers organizing events across the state. Sanders lost the 2016 Democratic presidential primary to Hillary Clinton and was hoping for a comeback that would be a capstone moment for the states progressive wing.

Results won't be final for a week. This is the ONE LBN story allowed for California.

Yes: It is a political contest and the final numbers add up to who gets to lead the party and the general election.
It is also about how we go forward and what direction forward is going to be. Not to mention how hard we are going to have to work to correct what is wrong, including healthcare, the Justice system, a thoroughly corrupt and inadequate economy, and oh, by the way, saving what is left of the planet.
It is not only about beating a madman and his thoroughly corrupt party, and all the illegal assistance from Putin, the Saudis and anyone with enough money to screw up the voting system.

I believe the later votes will change this somewhat. Bernie will probably win, though. Most of my friends voted for him, so I think he's popular out here.

(2,921 posts)At this point I'm hoping that Biden continues to increase his tallies to push Bloomberg below 15%. Then both Biden and Sanders would get even more delegates. But at 24% versus 33% it's kind of hard to call this other than a Bernie squeaker. Plus, not all the same day votes have been counted. The number of votes out could dramatically change the counts. So let's wait, shall we? Or at least not post this stuff here?
