Trump declares a 'national emergency' to combat coronavirus

Source: CNN

(CNN)President Donald Trump said Friday he was declaring a national emergency -- "two very big words" -- to free up federal resources to combat coronavirus. Speaking in the White House Rose Garden, Trump said the action would "unleash the full power of the federal government."

Trump is under pressure to take more decisive action as the virus begins altering everyday life for nearly every American.
On Thursday, CNN reported that Trump had decided to make the declaration but that it was still undergoing legal review at the White House.

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, a Democrat, spoke to Vice President Mike Pence Thursday and requested the Trump administration declare an emergency to provide vital assistance to states such as Washington on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis, a Washington state official told CNN. The official told CNN they are "hopeful that (Friday's) announcement will provide the kinds of assistance that the governor requested."

White House aides have been weighing the move for the past several days as a way to provide more resources for combating the coronavirus outbreak. Trump is also debating whether to support a legislative package to combat the outbreak negotiated by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and his Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

Vile workers of egregious, self-serving iniquities.

These actions displayed right now are traits of the Evil One, the devil, the hater of Mankind/Womankind and of all things GOOD created by the Eternal One, the Lover of Womankind/Mankind.

Disciples of the devil continue work today with filthy self-serving schemes as is so glaringly evident. It is written in Holy Scripture.

They're telling Trump via Pence what he needs to do based on their current experience.

Two possible cases (first ones) were announced this morning, after which schools in Austin Independent School System, Austin Community College, St. Edwards University, and UT-Austin were closed. Spring break is next week, so that was already anticipated, but most schools are now closed until March 30. I’m glad city officials are responding quickly, but people were stocking up for a siege lasting months—bottled water (there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the Austin water supply), toilet paper and paper towels when available (I think most stores sold out quickly), and enough food in every cart to feed an army. One woman in line near me had six enormous cartons of eggs with I think 36 eggs per carton.

My stocking up consisted of four bottles of wine, raspberries, salad makings, and fish. I’m sure the alcohol will help ward off any germs!

I could prob survive 2 months if a couple 3 day fasts and bowl of brown rice 4-7 days. Bonus if I lose a few pounds. But I get hungry and eat all the goodies up front. It's hard to save the donuts in the freezer.

and apparently I wasn't the only one who thought that would help. There were many more people there than I expected, but only two checkouts were open, so the wait time was about normal for daytime shopping. I guess some people are altering their behavior re. shopping etc. but it's still a shit-show out there.

Perhaps Trump's 2020 campaign will be built around building a wall on that border.
