US citizens returning from overseas say they are waiting hours for coronavirus screening at airports

Source: CNN

Several travelers told CNN that when they arrived at airports in Dallas, Chicago and New York, they faced long lines and confusion.
President Donald Trump announced restrictions on entry into the US from 26 countries in Europe on Wednesday. The ban went into effect at midnight on Friday, but only after the original announcement sparked chaos at European airports as Americans sought ways to return home before it went into place.
Karen Rogers, a passenger returning from Paris by way of London told CNN Saturday night she had been waiting in line for at least five hours to be screened at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and was told she would have at least another hour to go.

It's impossible to believe that this is not an effort to spread the virus.

I am not surprised this happened. O'Hare has always been a bit of a cluster F when it comes to international arrivals - and that was long before COVID-19 came along.

Returning from vacation in Mexico.

At least 4 hours to clear customs. Contradictory instructions at different times from CBP just made it worse, and thousands of people in close quarters were worried and frustrated.

As dumb as Trump is, one would think others in government leadership would fix this.

So of course he fired the heads of CBP and DHS and we currently only have acting commissioners for both.

On a related note, just before asshole announced his travel ban, people were returning from hot zones like Italy and South Korea without even any questions about their health and exposure. Then when sick people went to the doctor upon returning from a hot zone wanting to be tested, they were denied.

just like empty store shelves, canceled public events, empty venues, rationed health care, and people panicking at home because they don't trust their president.

Someone gets on an overseas flight, packed together with hundreds of other passengers, from a country for which there travel bans, and then complains about waiting for several hours to be screened, and claiming is is intentional?

I'll be kind and say I think someone needs a nap.

Edited to put in 3rd person.

flights, a week ago. Shut it down and stay home for 2 weeks. Otherwise, we are in uncharted, exponential infection. Is that what it will take for GOP to get it? Assholes.
