Trump Says He Will Label Regions by Risk of Coronavirus Threat

Source: NY Times

WASHINGTON — President Trump said Thursday that he planned to label different areas of the country as at a “high risk, medium risk or low risk” to the spread of the coronavirus, as part of new federal guidelines to help states decide whether to relax or enhance their quarantine and social distancing measures.
****
In the call, he rebuffed a plea from Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington for a more forceful response to the outbreak, according to two officials familiar with the conversation. Later, during an interview with the Fox News host Sean Hannity, the president singled out Mr. Inslee as well as Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan for requesting federal aid at all. We have people like Governor Inslee, he should be doing more,” Mr. Trump said. “He shouldn’t be relying on the federal government.” The president called Mr. Inslee a “failed presidential candidate” who was “always complaining.”
****
He also reiterated his desire to start opening up some parts of the country in the near future. “I think we can start by opening up certain parts of the country, the farm belt, certain parts of the Midwest, other places,” he said.
****
Mr. Trump has been eager to send a message to the business community and to the markets that there is an end date to the economic standstill caused by the coronavirus and the response to it.

Good God! State Governors shouldn't be asking for Federal help!!???

Trump really needs to try a good, deep sample the coronavirus for himself.
How will we survive until Jan 20 of next year? (And that assumes he loses the election which is not anywhere near a sure thing.)

Fri Mar 27, 2020, 12:15 AM
Mar 2020

The new cases we see today are based on infections that occurred as much as a week ago.
Look at how quickly things changed in Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, and even Texas.
A week ago there were very few cases there. Now each of those states has at least 1,600 confirmed cases of Covid-19; some well over 2,000.
A week from now these current numbers will seem very small.
A week from now, there will be another group of states that are at the same point as the states I mentioned above are now.

Current numbers of infected people in any given state are just a window into the past as far as this virus is concerned.
Calling on states with very few reported cases to open for business will just insure that those states will be in disaster mode within one month.

The Trump administration isn't just refusing to take responsibility, they are advocating for actions that are extremely irresponsible.

Novi is a Detroit suburb. Sorry that the URL is from Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/191709277934/videos/506243943403714/

Main points if you're not on FB:

The hospital she works at used their last ventilator at 7 a.m. on 3/26/20.
She was issued ONE N95 mask to reuse over and over. That's all she gets. She keeps it in a paper bag.
She was called into work a third shift because the ER was so swamped.
They are out of drugs to use to sedate people while they are on ventilators.
People are going to die needlessly because they have no supplies.

which means in many cases they are suffering from a slow-motion days or weeks-long drowning plus unbearable pain.

I had not heard of that particular shortage before. It sure makes suicide before getting to the point of needing to go the E.R. for respiratory distress a very rational idea.

(She did say that if you go to the hospital and are not in respiratory distress, it's a wasted trip -- they will just tell you to go home and self-isolate, and needless to say, you won't get tested either)

Regarding his attacks on Gov. Inslee, Cuomo and others, how many people will die because of Fat Donnie's fragile ego? "If you don't worship me satisfactorily, you get nothing!"
