PM Boris Johnson tests positive for coronavirus
Source: BBC
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus, the government has said.
Mr Johnson has mild symptoms and will self-isolate in Downing Street, after being tested at No 10 by NHS staff. "He was tested for coronavirus on the personal advice of England's chief medical officer, Professor Chris Whitty," a statement said. He will still be in charge of the government's handling of the crisis, the statement added.
In a tweet, Mr Johnson said: "Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus. I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government's response via video-conference as we fight this virus."Together we will beat this."
Mr Johnson was last seen on Thursday night as he clapped outside No 10 as part of a nationwide gesture to thank NHS staff. There are more than 11,600 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK, and 578 people have died. It comes after the Prince of Wales also tested positive for the virus earlier this week. Prince Charles, 71, is to be displaying mild symptoms "but otherwise remains in good health", a spokesman said.

"But there was a court case in 2013 where a woman lost a privacy case.
"The Judge said it was in the public interest while he was in office that he had an extramarital affair with a woman who later gave birth to a daughter while he was married.
"It then came out in that court case that it was alleged he had another child out of wedlock.
"So it is between five and six children that our future Prime Minister has.

(54,047 posts)It's not like the Trump administration has a long history of being truthful about much of anything.
When they come out and specifically say Trump is absolutely virus-free, and has exhibited no sign of any symptoms whatsoever, that is when we can expect the stream of virologists streaming into 1600 in the middle of the night, with syringes full of go-go-juice to keep the walking dead at least camera-functional.

(11,882 posts)From not practicing safe practices , ignoring them completely. Still going daily on tv not doing whats needed to to stop the spreading of this virus, and instead trump continues making more be infected by his downplaying of it. trump spreading this was a hoax caused many to ignore this virus too. Just a matter of time before a leader from a country somewhere dies from it, and that ignored warnings too. We're watching trump real time advocate returning to work , or forcing people to return to work while a pandemic is still spiking upward killing thousands.

(91,937 posts)policies that actually endanger the lives of thousands of people, what do you expect the reaction to be?
Johnson has actually shown some positive steps toward his initial position in regard to the coronavirus, before he got it. Trump has demonstrated no such inclination.
Take Rush Limbaugh as another example. Do you really expect sympathy from those who have been the victims of his hate rhetoric, and make no mistake about it, the messages from the likes of Limbaugh and Trump without question have caused an alarming increasing in racist attacks that have been occurring throughout our country
However, if something adversely did happened to Trump, what do expect from those who have been victims of his racist, sexist, bigoted policies to be?

If he eventually gets it, should I feel any sympathy? Nope. There's a REASON the hashtags #TrumpPandemic, #TrumpVirus, #TrumpPlague, #TrumpLiesPeopleDie, and #TrumpGenocide are floating around Twitter.
Now THIS is someone I AM crying about
