(CNN) -- Rep. Mark Meadows resigned from Congress on Monday as he prepares to officially become White House chief of staff.
"Serving the people of North Carolina's eleventh congressional district for these last seven years has been the honor of my life," he wrote in a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. "I will forever be grateful for the opportunity."

number one, I wouldn't know, because I don't have cable, and number two, it's possible that they got something right. The weather, what day Christmas falls on. Not everything they say is wrong.
Thanks for writing.

(987 posts)NC 11 is very rural--and has traditionally been conservative, but we've got a couple of more liberal counties.
Before Mark Meadows we had a moderate or "Blue Dog" Democrat, Heath Shuler. Shuler retired (without giving us much time to get a good candidate) and Meadows came in on the Tea Party/Anti-Obama movement.
This time we have a strong candidate, Moe Davis. https://moedavisforcongress.com/

He'll probably lobby for oil, fracking, weed killer, or probably something more toxic.
