GULF BREEZE, Fla. (AP) -- Deputies in Florida said two doctors stole a campaign flag supporting President Donald Trump from their neighbor's property.
Geoffrey Michael Fraiche, 41, and Laura Ann Webb-Fraiche, 38, allegedly took the flag on April 7 while their two children were with them, news outlets reported. A Santa Rosa County Sheriff's report said they used a ladder to pull it down.
Both Fraiche and Webb-Fraiche are gynecologists working in different Pensacola hospitals, WKRG-TV reported. They were charged with several crimes, including trespassing and larceny, and released from the county jail. The news outlets did not include any comments from the couple.
The district's Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz tweeted Tuesday that their actions showed "despicable parenting." He included a version of a surveillance video with captions added that said their older child asked them to stop. "Apparently two medical degrees lack the decency & common sense of a child," Gaetz added.

Too bad the doctors didn't have the political clout Rep. Matt Gaetz always had, growing up as the son of a Florida state senator. When Matt Gaetz was arrested for DUI, somehow his case was bumbled away and nothing came of it.
Matt Gaetz's 2008 DUI arrest resurfaces after jab at Hunter Biden's substance abuse. Here's what happened.

(3,145 posts)If a physician can be so deeply triggered by a piece of printed polyester with Trumps name on it that theyll break multiple laws, in front of their children, to destroy it them maybe they dont have the maturity to practice medicine.

(15,670 posts)I hate that my neighbor three doors down has trump stickers all over his car and golf cart. But its his property and not my business. Good news is he cant put a trump flag on the flag pole at his home per HOA rules. He tried and they made him take it down.

(12,132 posts)and one of the reasons is so she can drive a golf cart to the grocery store (plenty of other reasons but she keeps looking at houses that have an extra garage for a golf cart lol).
I am not against the idea and if we are able to do it AND get a golf cart, mine is gonna really make some tRumpies sad.

(15,670 posts)Lots of positives to living in 55 plus. A few negatives....everyone knows everyones business and they are strict with rules especially yards. No fences. The golf garages are cool. Please make sure you get a stucco home due to Hurricanes. The neighbors will bend over backwards to help you in anything. One neighbor made mask for every resident in our village about 140 people. They bring TONS of food if you are under the weather and if your sick they will do everything to make you comfortable. They will drive you to airport, doctors, store, etc. now, they will pick up stuff for you but would rather not have company...understandably. Its overall awesome!!!! One thing I do is go around and move all the junk off the lanai (back porch) before a hurricane.

(12,132 posts)all include lawn maintenance in the HOA. One or two of them even repaint your house every 6 or 7 years. Personally I am sick to death of stucco but there's no escaping it in FL so I guess I'm stucko with it.
We lived in a 60 year old cinder block house with a flat roof down by the Orlando airport for over 30 years and never once worried about hurricanes but we moved to the north side of town a couple years ago and she doesn't like the neighborhood lol (I inherited my grandpa's house which was bigger and newer but not by a lot). She thinks the organization/activities at a 55+ will help her. She no longer needs to worry about where we live as she doesn't work and I don;t mind driving an hour into town so we have a lot of room to look around.
I do like the thought of not mowing the lawn but then, I don't do it now - either our granddaughter's boyfriend does it or we pay a guy but I'm cheap so we don't get all the extra services lol.

(35,926 posts)I hope there's a defense fund or pro bono legal help for the gynecologists. Their neighbor can go suck it, too.

(3,051 posts)I knew Nazis. Real ones. I fought them (kind of I was a MP and guarded them). I talked with them extensively as a native German speaker. The depth of evil and depravity cannot be understated.
And Trump is an ass and wrong, but hes so far from a Nazi that to call him a Nazi cheapens the horror.

She is, btw, wondering how big an IDIOT is the guy with the gas mask.

I'm more inclined to reserve the label of despicable parenting to those who teach their kids that misogyny, racism, compulsive lying, and all around narcissism are desirable traits by supporting that tragedy in the White House.

(3,051 posts)By theft and vandalism? Any minds changed? Hearts softened?
And in front of children who knew it was wrong and trying to stop them.
These doctors are idiots. They'll probably face a medical review board now, as any crime by a professional is taken overly seriously.
Talk about a life-changing stupid moment.

(280 posts)It is not about taking the high road; it is about balancing risk and reward, acting with a purpose, and moving your goals forward.
If this were a significant act of civil disobedience that highlighted the president's ignorance and hypocrisy and it made Trump supporters consider their support, or it acted to empower Democrats to get out the vote in a vital swing district, that might be worth it.
Instead, it empowers the president's supporters by painting libruls as law-breaking, family-hating, elitist hooligans. And bad neighbors. Just the sort of people you want to vote against.
And if Biden does not decry and disavow their actions early and often, it will be taken he supports them fully and it is only the illegal lockdown that stopped him from desecrating the poor neighbors private property along with the other criminals.
Badly done, people. Badly done.

(57,284 posts)Since they're both highly educated, they should have figured out, in advance, how much this foolishness was going to cost them and given that amount to the campaign of someone who would put the money to use to defeat a Republican in the upcoming election.

(3,145 posts)the collateral damage.
Even if they somehow keep their licenses their practice is effectively over. Theyve made themselves toxic and this WILL follow them.
Worse is they have opened their kids up to bullying.
All over a cheap piece of printed cloth.

(432 posts)Ive seen these homes & cars too. Certainly not 1%, but typical middle class homes and you know FOX NEWS, Limbaugh, The 700Club, NRA etc. are pumping the propaganda into them 24/7.
This has to stop. We cant have 2 Americas. Democracy will not survive. We must bring back the Fairness Doctrine.
