Canada, US extend border restrictions for another 30 days

TORONTO (AP) Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Saturday the U.S. and Canada have agreed to keep their border closed to nonessential travel for another 30 days and he said it will be undoubtedly longer before the restriction is removed.
Trudeau said it will keep people on both sides of the border safe amid the pandemic.
The agreement is the same terms. Its just extended for another 30 days. It will ensure we continue to get essential goods and services back and forth across the border, Trudeau said.
Trudeau said in French the restrictions will remain in place for many, many weeks to come and then said in English it will undoubtedly be many weeks.

(24,259 posts)I know it's for the best but this really hurts on a personal level since as an adoptee finally in reunion my children and grands and I were really hoping to spend more time with and meet more of our newly found bio family up there. So many of them don't use social media or even the internet very much so family get togethers are the only we see each other.
This just makes me that much angrier with the damn fools who won't stay home or wear a mask or follow social distancing.
