Putin leverages coronavirus chaos to make a direct play to Trump

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin appear to have had more sustained contact with each other in the past two weeks than at any time since 2016, as the Kremlin tries to use the coronavirus pandemic and close personal ties between the two leaders to normalize long-strained relations with Washington.

The two leaders spoke on the phone at least four times over a two-week period, beginning March 30 and ending on Sunday, a record pace for publicly known phone calls between the leaders, according to a CNN tally.

Official readouts of their conversations indicate the leaders discussed the coronavirus pandemic and a price war that destabilized the oil markets. The flurry of phone calls follow a Kremlin campaign urging US-Russia cooperation against the coronavirus that used news outlets Trump follows, said Andrew Weiss, a vice president for studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

The calls have taken place as both Trump and Putin face domestic political challenges and offer the embattled leaders a way to claim wins. But analysts such as Weiss warn that Putin's outreach involves risks to the US.

I am sure Trump is making direct appeals for Russian interference similar to what he did with the Ukraine.

Are these "official readouts" accurate or are they edited and cleaned up by some sycophant?

Are they accurate?

"Moscow and many other regions have been in lockdown for nearly two weeks to stem the contagion, but hospitals in the capital are still being pushed to their limit, the Kremlin said.

On Saturday, dozens of ambulances queued outside a hospital handling coronavirus cases in the region immediately outside Moscow, waiting to drop off patients.

One ambulance driver said he had been waiting 15 hours outside the hospital to drop off a patient suspected of having the virus.

“The situation in both Moscow and St Petersburg, but mostly in Moscow, is quite tense because the number of sick people is growing,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview on state television, news agencies reported."

The collapse of the former USSR. He will get his revenge by collapsing the US economy. Trump is his butt boy. Anyone who can’t realize this, just wait and see. Trump is only pretending to be stupid.

12. Trump is not stupid,

he is sick, mentally ill. Putin has dirt on him. Saudi Arabia bought enough floor space at trump Tower to keep it in the black.

The virus has stopped Trump from doing his favorite activity, campaign rallies. Trump instead holds daily campaign rallies where he bashes Speaker Pelosi, Joe Biden, Democratic governors, and Democrats in general. He now has a bigger audience than he would have at one of his rallies and it costs him nothing. What Trump is doing is brilliant. The MSM was a big factor in getting Trump elected in 2016 and it is helping him once again.

Donnie is stupid. Stupid as a fence post. Just ask his first Sec State. And what he's doing isn't brilliant at all. If anything, it only shores up his base. But he doesn't stand a chance in hell in Nov. with only his base of fellow lunatics. I not sure he fully understands that. He has to reach out to the middle and those who are less political. The ones who weren't all that fond of Sec. Clinton and figured they'd give Donnie a chance. Polls show what little approval he has now with independents is collapsing due to his daily feakout-o-thon.

Maybe not the KGB mob bosses, but everyday people did. The mob bosses took control, and they want to take control of the US the same way.
