Ocasio-Cortez says she will vote for Biden in November
Source: The Hill
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said late on Wednesday that she will vote for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in the coming November election.
The moment came during the congresswomans livestream discussion with rapper Fat Joe on Instagram on Wednesday night.
At the start of the roughly hourlong discussion on Wednesday, the rapper told her: Its three things you can do: You can vote for Trump, you can vote for Biden or you can not vote at all. Who you going to vote for?
In November, Im going to be voting for Joe Biden, she responded. But thats what Im going to be doing.

(47,399 posts)Such a wholehearted endorsement, I'm sure the Biden campaign is eternally grateful. At least Bernie gave a very sincere heartfelt endorsement, not a "I have no other choice, so I'll vote for Biden".

She still doesn't have an office in the Bronx. She has a desk in State Representative Reyes' office, which is in the 15th District, not even the 14th District.

(12,165 posts)She has a following. People listen to her. If she tips just a few people over from not voting to voting, then it's important that this gets publicized.
She has a sphere of influence that many of us do not, she needs to bring some of those "not exactly thrilled it's Biden" folks over to us.

Progressive New York Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez delivered an unequivocal endorsement of former Vice President Joe Bidens candidacy, saying that voters absolutely should rally behind our Democratic nominee in November.
On Wednesdays edition of ABCs The View, host Whoopi Goldberg asked AOC if shed be able to do the same thing as Bernie Sanders and endorse Biden, and whether its time to have a conversation with Joe?
Absolutely, she replied, adding that the stakes are too high when it comes to another four years of Trump.
Her remarks went beyond having a conversation about endorsing Biden, though, as AOC went on to say I think its really important that we rally behind our Democratic nominee in November, and argued explicitly against voting third party.
Nice try, though.

At least Ocasio-Cortez mentioned Biden's name.

I think Rep Omar talks as if Bernie has a path to victory.

Would it be so hard to just say, "I will vote for Vice President Biden in November and I encourage other Democrats to do the same"? Its not like she has to sing his praises, just show her support.
