DOJ will appeal ruling over sealed Mueller materials to Supreme Court

Source: The Hill

The Department of Justice will appeal to the Supreme Court after it was ordered to hand over sealed documents from former special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation to Congress.

The department on Friday asked the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals to stay its ruling while it petitions the high court.

"Whether and under what circumstances Congress may resort to the courts to seek grand jury materials generated in a criminal investigation in aid of an impeachment inquiry is plainly a question of great significance to all three branches of government, as well as to the functioning of the grand jury system in high-profile, politically-charged matters," the Justice Department wrote.

The move comes after a three-judge D.C. Circuit panel ruled 2-1 that the Trump administration would have to hand over to Congress grand jury materials from Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

NEW: US District Court Judge Reggie Walton has set June 18 as the target date to complete his review of the unredacted copy Mueller report in response to my/@BuzzFeedNews & @EPICprivacy #FOIA lawsuit. We are seeking to unredact additional details from it.

supposed to be kept informed on what the President is doing and why because part of their job is to be a check on the executive branch and any SCOTUS judge would in essence become a co-conspirator in Trumps attempt to hide his acts should they rule in his favor to hide it.
Now, what I can see is SCOTUS asking (not ordering as its not within the power of SCOTUS to do) Congress to exercise some caution in this and appoint a special committee to review it in private first before anything is released as that is only fair but that is as far as any SCOTUS ruling should go.

There must be damning info that would have destroyed Trump but was eliminated from the report for them to take it so far.

SCOTUS will cover up for drumpf no matter what. They will either find a way to postpone this until after the election or just rule in favor of him on all cases because they are spineless russian repug hacks. There is no chance they will enforce the constitution, they will lie and twist it so it's not even recognizable. They are part of the rw plot to destroy us, the working class, and take everything for the rich - themselves & friends.

Seriously, I'd be super shocked as well if they ever ruled against him. Yeah, they might occasionally support something good like clean water, but for every single thing political, they always, always rule for drumpf.
