U.S. intelligence agencies issued warnings about the novel coronavirus in more than a dozen classified briefings prepared for President Trump in January and February, months during which he continued to play down the threat, according to current and former U.S. officials.

The repeated warnings were conveyed in issues of the President’s Daily Brief, a sensitive report that is produced before dawn each day and designed to call the president’s attention to the most significant global developments and security threats.

For weeks, the PDB — as the report is known — traced the virus’s spread around the globe, made clear that China was suppressing information about the contagion’s transmissibility and lethal toll, and raised the prospect of dire political and economic consequences.

But the alarms appear to have failed to register with the president, who routinely skips reading the PDB and has at times shown little patience even for the oral summary he now takes two or three times per week, according to the officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss classified material..............

and a bunch of congress by scaring the base and blaming it on obama all that oct - then it was gone from RW media right after the election. it worked for republicans and they would have noticed, whether the GOP establishment had anything or not to do with initiating limbaugh etc to talk about it all month

there were signs in RW media that trump was going to use the 2019 congo ebola event, while social media (russians?) was used there to get locals to attack and disrupt ebola clinics. rw media was suggesting congolese immigrants were joining the 'caravans' 'attacking' the border. where did those stories originate? common media - limbaugh's transcripts are available out there.

then along came COVID and it was probably not just total stupidity/incompetence/denial and sounds like the dumbfucks in the white house were stupid enough to think they could use this like ebola - something controllable they could use to rouse the authoritarian base and get idiot frightened dems to vote for them.

trump is stupid enough to get talked into delaying action so that it could be used to delay or cancel the elections, whether it was an adviser like limbaugh or miller or jared or putin

...When Trump either knew, or like he's known for doing either never read or simply ignored his PDB cause to Trump he's the STABLE Fing GENIUS & knows more than anyone! ...Not sure what is worse? If he knew & LIED or if he just ignored or never read his PDBs?

...I guess it really doesn't matter he's brought us to where we are & there is no going back!

...I also think blaming TRUMP for all this is a mistake in a way because he's been enabled by the GOP to do the damage he's done no different from a mother who let their toddler play with matches & then burnt the house down! You can't blame the toddler really! I know, not quite the same but similar!

So someone has to summarize a "brief" for him? Which is reportedly already cut down to three bullet points at his request? How is that done?

Do they condense it into one word and shout that at him as he passes in the hallway?

That's what burns me. The whole "can we inject disinfectant" that his crew dismissed as "the president thinking out loud"... Thinking out loud and strategizing - that's what he's supposed to do behind the scenes in the meetings. He can't even be bothered to president most days!

Is there anything in the fucking job description he actually does? Besides live in the white house and grift taxpayer funds to pay his own companies?
